Questions and Answers listed below:
QUESTIONS:
Question # Question Answer/Response 1.
Is there a specific product spec'd for the cattle wire? The specs listed in the SOW doesn't describe exactly what kind of wire is needed.
See Section 32 31 26 Page 19, ASTM A121 aluminum-coated, Type A, Class 3 with 12.5-gauge wire with 14 gauge, round, 4-point barbs spaced no more than 125 mm 5 inches apart.
2.
Moving Gates to 16 ft openings consists of moving a post that will end up changing line post positions. How do we use the same holes if we are moving a post at the gate to keep every line post distance correct (spacing)?
Driving new post into the ground “In-pound” as necessary to follow drawings and specifications.
3.
Structural Post or Non structural ? Lines and Corners.
Non-Structural posts will be use in this project including lines and corners.
4.
On the south side of the second phase posts are doubled, meaning one post then one at 4' or 5' then one is at 9' approximately. Do we keep the post every 4' or 5'?
If we remove the center post of these and they are over 9' spacing what would be the biggest spacing, we could have?
Install single post where there is no gate and don’t exceed the maximum post separation as shown in the drawings. Driving new post into the ground “In-pound” in those areas as necessary. (No excavation is allowed)
5.
Specifications section 3.2.5 mentions electrical grounding.
We do not see any details showing the means and method of attaching an electrical grounding system to the fence at the specified locations. Can the USG provide this information?
Means and methods to be provided by the contractor and to follow National Electrical Code 23rd edition.
6.
The drawing details provided do not show the height of the new fence, only projection into the ground. Are we to replace the old fence with posts and wire similar dimensions to the existing or is a specific requirement not called out in the drawings? What are the dimensions of the 9-gauge wire fabric and height of the post that is requested for this scope?
See detail A/C4. Regular post lengths are 7’-6” and bury 2’-6” into the ground. Total fence height is 5’.
7.
Should the wood used to be treated or untreated?
Post will be treated in accordance with AWPA U1 see Section 2.2.3.3 Wood Posts.
8.
Do you want footers for the gate posts? And if so do you want a hole dug and concrete poured for the footer, or just pound it into the ground?
No foundation will be provided. All posts will be pound into the ground including the gate posts.
