Road & Parking Lot Improvement

Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Solicitation #140P6424B0009

Questions & Answers

Question #1 – Is it possible to start earlier than the 8-5 time?

Answer – Contractors may work on weekends, holidays, or outside normal “8 to 5” hours so long as they request and receive permission from the COR/CO and coordinate it with them.

Question #2 – Do you anticipate this project being awarded and the NTP issued this fall, or will the NTP likely be issued next spring?

Answer – We anticipate the NTP being issued this year. Based on our current estimated timelines of the contract award process, we anticipate the NTP being issued in early September, which we believe would allow for work to be completed within the 120 day period of performance.

Question #3 – Will NPS be issuing construction drawings for this project?

Answer – We do not have any construction drawings for this project, all available images and other reference materials are provided in the Project Specifications.

Question #4 – Does the NPS want to include a center line running from Riverview to the railroad in the pavement marking scope?

Answer – Yes, one yellow line down the center will work. All pavement markings should be installed like they are currently now.

Question #5 – Projection Specifications, Page 4, D. a. ii.

states “grind entrance drive and both sides of railroad crossing to march roadway for new asphalt…” My interpretation is that we are grinding the entire entrance drive from Riverview Rd. to just past the railroad tracks. Is this correct, or are you only looking for transitional milling at Riverview Rd. and the railroads tracks?

Answer – What we are looking for is transitional milling so the new asphalt will match the other surfaces. We are not looking to have the entire roadway be milled from Riverview Rd. to past the railroad tracks. There is some spot milling on the roadway for some repairs that have asphalt damage before the new asphalt is installed.
