About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers file for the AMIS Purchase and Deliver 3/8 Pea Gravel contract opportunity. It addresses material specifications for the gravel procurement and does not establish pricing terms, response dates, or award information.
The document clarifies two critical material requirements for bidders. First, the gravel must be crushed 3/8 inch material, commonly known as scalpings, which consists of pea gravel with clay content for compaction purposes—not rounded river rock. Second, the rock material must be limestone exclusively, as it is the only material approved by the contracting agency's resource compliance team due to its geological compatibility with the park's native rock formation. Reference photographs are provided to visually demonstrate the acceptable product specifications in both lighter and darker limestone variations.
