Question and Answers-Solicitation 140P6325Q0013

Update to Solicitation for Schedule:

SCHEDULE: The Government anticipates that work will be completed in 30 calendar days with work beginning in September 2025. The final performance period start date is contingent of issuance of Notice to Proceed.

Question 1:

Section 01 10 00 mentions removing 1230 square feet, while Section 32 12 13 specifies 952 square feet.

Could you confirm the correct area to be removed?

Government Answer:

Correction:

The correct total square footage to be removed (including base and Option A) is 1,910 square feet.

Section 01 10 00 – Summary of Work correctly lists 1,230 square feet as the base quantity of concrete sidewalk to be removed under the main quote item.

Section 32 12 13 – Concrete Pavement incorrectly states 952 square feet for removal. This is corrected.

Option A, which is now considered part of the full scope of work, includes the following:

• Removal of an additional 680 square feet of existing concrete sidewalk

• Installation of 760 square feet of new concrete sidewalk

• (8 feet wide, 6 inches thick), extending along the west side of the flagpole to the radius saw cut at the accessible parking area.

Question 2:

Section 01 10 00 specifies a 6-inch thickness, while Section 32 12 13 lists 5 inches. Could you clarify the required thickness?

Government Answer:

Correction: All new concrete sidewalk will be 6 inches thick.

Question 3:

Are there restrooms available for contractor use?

Government Answer:

No. The public restrooms are reserved for park visitor use only. The contractor is responsible for providing portable restroom facilities for their personnel.

For reference, a local vendor is:

Lurz Plumbing – (605) 685-3801

Question 4:

Please clarify the exact square footage required for removal and install. There are 3 square footage measurements in the specifications.

Page 3-Replacing 1230SF Page 3-Removing 680SF and installing 760SF Page 17-Removing 952SF and installing 952SF

Government Answer:

Due to the project being a lump sum, the total quantity of concrete sidewalk removal is 1,910 square feet.

• 1,230 square feet of concrete sidewalk replacement is the main route from the parking lot.

• The portion of work previously referred to as Option A—now included in the base scope—adds an additional 680 square feet of sidewalk removal and 760 square feet of new sidewalk installation.

This additional work is located along the west side of the flagpole, extending to the radius saw cut at the accessible (disabled) parking area. The new sidewalk in this section shall be 8 feet wide and 6 inches thick.

The 952 square feet listed on Page 17 is incorrect and should be disregarded.

Total removal quantity: 1,910 square feet Total new sidewalk installation: 1990 square feet.

Question 5:

Confirm existing bollards to remain? Is the contractor not responsible for removing or replacing?

Government Answer:

Existing bollards will remain. However, if the contractor moves, damages, or destroys any bollards, they will be held responsible for the cost of replacement or reinstallation of the bollard lights at no additional cost to the government.

Question 6:

Are new drawing being released for the optional quote item?

Government Answer:

No. The work previously identified as Option A is now included in the total project scope. This is described in Part 1 – General, Section 1.2, Work Covered by the Contract Documents, B. Work Consists Of. This section of sidewalk once replaced, will have a finished width of 8 feet outside of the radius areas.
