About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation providing questions received and government responses. The solicitation is for replica wooden doors to be installed at Fort Smith National Historic Site for the National Park Service Midwest Region. The amendment includes four questions asking for door thickness details, any required core materials, need for jambs, and whether metal work for latches and hinges is included. The responses clarify that door sizes vary and field verification is recommended, the statement of work provides material information, jambs are not required, and latches, hinges and other metal components are included in the contract with field verification also recommended.

Q&A

Q1: Door overall thickness?

A2: Each door is different, no one door is a standard size. Highly recommended that a field verification is performed. Each door is made up of Bead Board and Tongue & Groove at various thickness per door.

Q2: Is there a core material requested if the door is over 1-1/4" thick?

A2: The SOW provides information as to the requested material. Field Verification is strongly recommended.

Q3: Are jambs of any kind required?

A3: Per the SOW, not a requirement of the project.

Q4: Is the metal work for the latching and hinges to be provided by Us?

A4: Per the SOW these items are included in the contract. Field Verification for all metal components is strongly recommend.
