Per the solicitation there is to be a trap door placed in the front sitting room (NW) floor.
8. Was there previous tuckpointing work in the attic chimneys?
Yes, in 1997.

Upgrading the panel is not part of the scope.

Submitted questions:
11. There is a requirement to contact Spire and have them remove the existing gas meter and line beyond the excavation. One that line is removed past the point of excavation, can it be abandoned in place?
Yes
12. There is a requirement for blower fans to be used for exhausting humidity through the chimneys. Keynote 122 p13/60 in the plans. Oftentimes old chimneys fill up with debris over the years. Can the government confirm that these chimneys are clear of debris and will function in this capacity?
The chimney in the Sitting Room (NW corner) was cleaned out my NPS staff around 2012; Parlor (SW corner) has not been cleaned out. Both likely have some level of debris.
13. On page 18/60 in the plans, Keynote 140 09 0300 REPAIR HISTORIC PLASTER WITH IN-KIND PATCHES. PAINT TO MATCH ADJACENT SURFACE. All the walls in that stairwell have wallpaper on them. Can you provide a more precise description of the work you want us to do there? Where do we start and stop, what materials need to be used, etc.?
The wallpaper dates to the early 1980s and will be fully removed and walls painted in a later project. Patches can be made to the area where repairs are indicated. Remove as much wallpaper as needed to make the plaster repairs.
14. Where on the project do you anticipate us needing to address lead paint abatement?
See #3; Previous work indicates that the east upstairs wall did not have plaster replaced. See previous LBP reports and plaster schedule from 1984 work. If not previously tested, assume lead paint. Basement stone is not painted, however window on North wall does have LBP.
15. Chimney repointing, only inside the attic spaces, where accessible? This is more of a clarification – nothing above roof line, correct?
See 01 2700 Repointing chimneys; primary work is in attic, however contractor should determine whether any repointing is needed on exterior portions.
16. Bid Additive 3, Scrape, prime and paint exterior wood surfaces. Is this the home in its entirety?
No, just areas of work, those that are peeling, or appear to only have one coat of paint.
17. Crack monitors – Will NPS provide replacement monitors for reinstallation?
Contractor will supply the crack monitors.
