Solicitation # 140P552Q0007 Cape Hatteras – Dune Re-nourishment
Amendment #001 – Question and Answer
• Question: Is there a minimum percentage of work that must be performed by the contractor on this project?
Answer: This solicitation will result in a service contract; hence subcontractors are not documented. The contract will be solely issued to a small business prime contractor and prime contractors past performance history is what could be affected if the subcontractor does not perform.
• Question: Does your group have someone that can inspect our material? Or how should we go about making sure our sand will meet the spec?
Answer: The site is fully accessible to the public and you are welcome to visit and confirm the material situation on your own. Once the project is awarded, the NPS technical COR will be responsible to accept the material offered.
• Question: Are there any gradation requirements for the beach sand material?
Answer: See attached chart for the sieve sizes.
• Question: Are there any color requirements for the beach sand material?
Answer: Color should visually be a close match to the sand color that is currently existing on the project site.
