Questions and Answers
1. Piping type outside of vault? DIP/PVC

2. Is the existing backflow loop operational?
YES
3. Will the new backflow system/water meter need to have the bypass loop incorporated into it?
YES
4. Dare County water dept be providing and installing new meter and including a smaller bypass meter?
YES - However, you will need to coordinate this effort directly with them, immediately after award.
5. Any required spacing of pipe fitting direction change before or after meter? Old rule of thumb is 10X Pipe size for any 90’s/45’s etc.
Yes, All installation of plumbing for this water line must be in accordance with all local (county) and state regulations to include International Building Code/North Carolina Building Code, North Carolina Department of Environment Quality Code/Requirements, Dare County Water Department Code/Requirements/Specifications, American Waterworks Association (AWWA), and American Society of Sanitary Engineering (ASSE). Elbows, fittings, and all other materials are included to meet Dare County Water Department and AWWA specifications for size, location, elbow turning radius, thrust blocks, depth of burial, etc. Provide concrete thrust blocks approximately 1 cubic ft around underground 90-degree bends below ground

6. Will Cape Hatteras Electric provide service and meter? We would install as noted backboard mounting surface with a new meter base/breaker panel to incorporate a single circuit for the encloser heater. Service provider to energize new meter /panel box incoming power or is left to the contractor to provide service tap? Generally, service provider will provide service to new meter.
Yes, Cape Hatteras Electric will provide the meter and service to the new meter/panel box. However, you will need to coordinate that effort directly with them, immediately after award.
