About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document (Amendment 0001 – Attachment 0003) that clarifies requirements for the Santa Rosa Bastion wood casemate door replacement project.
The contract requires fabrication and installation of six (6) wood casemate doors at three (3) casemates. The official Period of Performance is 365 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, consisting of 60 days for Title I submittals and 305 days for performance. All hardware shall replicate historic Spanish design and be fabricated from aluminum bronze alloy. The scope is limited to door replacement only; ventilation openings are excluded. Government will provide available schematics, but contractors are responsible for field verification as casemates vary in size and condition and must meet historic design intent. No permits through OGPe are required, and signed and sealed drawings are not required. Government review period for submittals is 14 calendar days. Government-furnished locking systems consist of padlocks. Contractors must secure openings with plywood if work is not completed the same day. Site access may be restricted, and contractors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permits. If archaeological discoveries occur, work must stop and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) must be notified immediately. Specialty work may be subcontracted, but the superintendent must be a prime contractor employee. Any unforeseen conditions will be handled in accordance with contract clauses.
