Question #1: Are Scaled Drawings available, if so please post.

Answer: No

Question #2: Are Ceilings Suspended? Or Hard Lid?

Answer: Both

Question #3: Are there existing Cable Trays for wiring above ceilings?

Answer: Unknown

Question #4: Can Existing Wiring be utilized?

Answer: Yes

Question #5: Is a “UPS” required? If so, What Time/Power Duration is required?

Answer: Yes, for the security system. Unknown on the duration at this time.

Question #6: Are “Or Equal” Equipment substitutions allowed?

Answer: Security system does not allow substitution (Milestone system). Fire system can be equal or better.

Question #7: Is “Plenum Wire” acceptable?

Answer: Wiring must be per requirements of 2019 NFPA 72.

Question #8: Is “After Hours Access” for said work, available to contractor at no add’l cost to the Gov’t?

Answer: No

Question #9: What is the height of Exterior Cameras? (If any) Answer: Several cameras are at approx.. 10 feet, one camera is approximately 15 feet, and one camera is approximately 20-25 feet.

Question #10: Who will be responsible for making the necessary access panels in the elevator shaft for access to the smoke detectors in the top of the shafts as required by NFPA 72, 2019.

Answer: The awardee will be responsible

Question #11: Please provide a list of equipment to be installed.

Answer: See Statement of Work

Question #12: Is there an incumbent vendor who has been servicing the existing system?

Answer: Yes.

Question #13: If so, what is the most current contract number and amount?

Answer: No Contract

Question #14: Is there any requirement for the readers to be FICAM-compliant?

Answer: Unclear, but we are not installing readers.

Question #15: Are there any requirements for the system to be cyber-secure?

Answer: No

Question #16: The RFQ mentions a “vessel” in the inspection information. Is this a typo?

Answer: Yes. “Vessels” should be changed to read “buildings”.

Question #17: Regarding the fire alarms, are the existing Fire Alarm systems to be active during the replacement? Do we need to do a “hot swap”?

Answer: HQ does not need to be active during replacement. Museum does need to be active. VC does not need to be active.

Question #18: Regarding Headquarters, page 1 of the specs calls out for a direct upgrade of the fire alarm in the Headquarter to a serviceable condition with minimum invasive work. What is the model of the existing Fire Lite system?

Answer: Silent Knight Model 5204

Question #19: Regarding Headquarters, the scope calls out for a direct upgrade from existing fire alarm.

Including replacing horn strobes. Will this be a device for device replacement or is there any new code requirements that require added devices?

Answer: Device for device replacement.

Question #20: Regarding the Visitor Center, what is the model of the existing Fire Lite system?

Answer: Silent Knight Model 5208

Question #21: Regarding the Visitor Center, the scope calls out for replacing horn-strobes. And installing a new Voice Evac system with Speakers. Is this system to be a direct device for device replacement for the existing devices or is it adding more devices to the building? Horns and speakers can’t be on the same fire alarm system.

Answer: Device for device replacement-would need more info on the requirements for the voice evac system.

Question #22: Regarding the Visitor Center, installing new speaker wire will be needed. A site visit may be needed to establish what we can do to reduce any invasive work in the building and to estimate the labor for that.

Answer: The scheduled group inspection was the opportunity to inspect the conditions

Question #23: Regarding the Museum, specs calls out for a direct upgrade of the existing fire alarm in the Museum. It also calls out for adding additional 24 smoke detectors and 4 notification devices in several areas in the building. What is the model of the existing Fire Lite system?

Answer: Silent Knight Model 5204

Question #24: Regarding the Museum, are there any drawings for these added devices?

Answer: No

Question #25: Regarding the Museum, are we to quote the conduit or is conduit by others?

Answer: Conduit must be included in your quote.

Question #26: Can we utilize the preexisting wire infrastructure within the sites?

Answer: Yes

Question #27: Can you provide architectural drawings for each individual building?

Answer: No

Question #28: Who will monitor and inspect the system once it is commissioned and accepted by the

NPS

Answer: Entec is the current company monitoring the system

Question #29: If the basis of design for the system is NFPA 72 2019 edition, the Visitors Center does not meet the requirement for a Voice Evacuation System as requested. Is that out of error?

Answer: This requirement is being deleted from the Statement of Work (SOW)
