Amendment 2

Questions and Answers

1. Work Hours: Is there any flexibility regarding work hours? The SOW indicates that non-standard hours must be requested 14 days in advance; are these requests typically approved? Additionally, what is the policy regarding weekend work?

a. We can do the 0700 - 1730 Monday - Friday. No way we can work weekends.

Fridays would be questionable when campers start rolling in, especially if it is in the fall. However, I think we can manage Fridays, but weekend will not be possible at all.

2. Stump Height: Will allowances be made for conditions where it is unsafe to cut stumps to the required height, or will we be expected to grind all stumps down to 3"?

a. We do not have to grind all stumps down to 3 inches. Where getting stumps down is difficult, we get them down as far as we can and leave it

3. Could you please provide the total mileage for this project?

a. Road Mileage is 7.6

4. Can the Government confirm the total roadway mileage of the Leatherwood Ford Road corridor within park boundaries that is subject to clearing, so offerors can price the full corridor consistently?

a. The total project corridor is approximately 7.6 roadway miles within park boundaries.

5. When was the corridor last cleared under a cyclic contract? An approximate date or a reference to the prior contract would help offerors gauge current vegetation density.

a. The corridor was last cleared under a cyclic contract in 2012.

6. For trees greater than 10 inches DBH designated by the COR, will designation occur before the notice to proceed or progressively during performance? This affects crew scheduling within the 60 day period.

a. Trees greater than 10 inches DBH will generally be identified by the COR progressively during performance. Such trees shall not be removed unless identified as hazard trees or specifically designated or approved by the COR.

Designations will be coordinated to avoid unnecessary disruption to the contractor’s progress within the 60-calendar-day performance period.
