About this file
This is a Standard Form 30 Amendment of Solicitation/Modification of Contract issued by the National Park Service (NPS), Northeast Region (NER) at Thomas Edison National Historical Park in West Orange, New Jersey. The amendment is numbered 0001 with an effective date of February 6, 2026, and references solicitation number 140P4526Q0006 dated January 23, 2026. The contracting office is located at 210 New York Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305, with Roselyn Sessoms identified as the responsible contracting officer.
The amendment addresses a site visit question regarding foot traffic on a West Bedroom rug at the Glenmont Mansion. The solicitation is for conservation services for this rug. The answer clarifies that while regular tour visitors do not walk on the rug and view it from the doorway, periodic access by staff and law enforcement is necessary for cleaning and alarm response purposes. The amendment is not extended, and responses are due by Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment prior to the specified deadline by completing items on the form, acknowledging receipt on offer copies, or submitting a separate letter or electronic communication referencing the solicitation and amendment numbers.

140P4526Q0006: CONSERVE WEST BEDROOM RUG AT
GLENMONT MANSION, THOMAS EDISION NATIONAL
HISTORICAL PARK, WEST ORANGE, NJ
This solicitation is amended to respond to submitted site visit question(s).
Question: Do people regularly walk on this rug?
Answer: Visitors who tour the home do not walk on this rug. They view the West Bedroom from the doorway. We also discourage staff from walking on the rug. However, periodically, both staff and law enforcement personnel must walk on the rug in order to access the back of the room for cleaning purposes and also in response to alarms. This activity occurs intermittently.
