Text version

Q: Would museum grade 98% uv protection acrylic 1/8 be acceptable?

A: No, Low E glass as stated in SOW is what is being requested for this project.

Q: Would the park like to include safety chains to storm windows and storm doors?

A: No additional chains.

Q: Is the facility able to consider the delivery only of the storm windows without installation? They are fairly easy to install and take minimal time.

A: The park will take delivery of storm windows & will be installed by park staff.

Q: Should measuring and or installation be included in the price?

A: The vendor is responsible for ensuring that all provided windows fit correctly and are usable. The vendor is only responsible for delivery, install will be done by Park employees.

Q: Manufacture states measurements need to be taken on 5/8 thickness but it also needs to be flat. Most of the measurements will not work because they were taken from rounded window trim and the diagonal measurements are also needed because some windows are too far out of square. Will the park provide correct measurements, or should the supplier take the measurements to ensure proper fit?

A: The vendor is responsible for ensuring that all provided windows fit correctly and are usable.

Q: Ive spoken with several manufactures and the storm windows will require extensive measurements to each window and now require crowns of floors walls and ceilings. There’s also three doors the park wants to cover with storm windows while they are open. These doors will have to be made out of tempered glass and also split in half because of weight. Storm windows are recommend to be the acrylic like especially the doors because of weight and tempered glass and have security chains for safety. The park will also have to remove every me they close the door.

A: The vendor is responsible for ensuring that all provided windows fit correctly and are usable. All doors and windows shall be Low E glass as stated in the SOW. Security chains will not be affixed to the storm windows and are not required. Doors will be removed every me when the structure is open to the public to insure safety protocols for security are being followed when park is closed.
