Requests for Information (RFI) for Solicitation 140P2123R0056: BLRI – AV System Design/Install

1. Pg. 4 indicates that the project is in four parts: a) VC theater AV system upgrade on the main level; b) Exhibits AV upgrade on the main level; c) Multipurpose room AV upgrade on the lower level; d) Exhibit Hall PA system.)

Question: Does this mean the project is to be done at four separate times?

Answer: No, these are separated out as four milestones since the project is expansive.

2. To clarify…

(Pg. 8 Conference Room B): DMPS3-200-C Crestron processor shall also remain in use.

(Pg. 13. Item e.): Control System Processor: Crestron CP4 or equal.

Question: We assume the DMPS3 would be a temp processor if the CP4 wasn’t in stock? (Similar to notation in Pg. 5 Theater B.?)

Answer: Yes, unless the DMPS3 is in good working order, and it will work with the system

3. (Pg. 14 Equipment Hall PA System, e. Exhibit Hall speakers): Dayton audio or equal (Quantity 3 pair)

Question(s): Is there a recommended speaker? Is IO655BT acceptable?

Answer: IO655BT is acceptable. Passive speakers will be best as there are no electrical outlets in the ceiling and there is currently not an existing system.

4. What is the engineer estimate/estimated budget price?

Answer: That information is limited. Cost/Price is one of the four evaluation criteria. Competitive proposals are based on offerors’ level of effort, in conjunction with current market prices.

5. Please provide photos, floor plan, and elevation plan of the room so we can recommend the correct type, size, and specifications of the speaker system for the space.

Answer: See Attachment F, titled: “AV_System_Infrastructure_Detail.pdf”

6. Who will be responsible for Electrical work?

Answer: Electrical work is being performed by the park.

7. Who will provide power outlets in AV racks and field AV devices?

Answer: Existing power receptacles are in place at all locations.

8.Will there be any cables that are going to be reused?

Answer: Yes, existing power and ethernet cables are in place and have been tested by the park IT staff.

Requests for Information (RFI) for Solicitation 140P2123R0056: BLRI – AV System Design/Install

9.Who will be responsible for conduit and raceways for AV cabling? Will there be a need to run new conduits and raceways?

Answer: No new conduit or raceways should be needed.

10. Will you require structural engineering certifications, especially for speaker, projector, and projector screen installations? If yes, will the cost be part of this AV package?

Answer: No.

11. Will the acoustically transparent projection screen be replaced in the theater? Do you have the exact specifications of the screen?

Answer: Yes, VII, Equipment – Theater AV System, d.

12. Will civil works be included in this package, particularly in replacing the projection screen in the theater?

Answer: No, all work is to be completed by contractor. See Attachment A – Standard Specs for AV.

Answer: This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
