About this file
This is a Sources Sought Notice (SSN) issued by the National Park Service Denver Service Center for market research purposes regarding the rehabilitation of water and wastewater infrastructure at Curecanti National Recreation Area in Colorado. The project, assigned CURE 318742 and Solicitation No. 140P2026B0003, is not requesting proposals at this time but seeks information from both large and small businesses to inform the acquisition strategy and determine potential small business set-aside eligibility.
The project scope encompasses replacing and rehabilitating aging water, wastewater, electrical, mechanical, and SCADA infrastructure primarily at Elk Creek and Lake Fork areas, with additional SCADA improvements at Iola. Work includes new and replacement utility piping, lift station improvements, septic and lagoon system work, generator connections, controls and telemetry upgrades, and associated site restoration and pavement repair. The NAICS code is 237110 with a $45 million size standard. Bid, Performance, and Payment Bonds are anticipated to be required. The anticipated period of performance is 625 calendar days, with seasonal shutdowns and potential winter construction required. The site is within 25 miles of suppliers and lodging, and operations must minimize visitor impact as the park remains open during construction. The NPS anticipates issuing a competitive Invitation for Bids (IFB) around September 2026 and awarding a single Firm-Fixed-Price contract. Interested contractors must submit responses using the attached Sources Sought Survey Questionnaire by 12:00 PM Mountain Time on July 30, 2026, to Daryl Hawkins at Daryl_hawkins@ios.doi.gov and Vicki Freese-Supler at vicki_freese-supler@ios.doi.gov. No reimbursement will be provided for response costs.
