About this file
This document is a transcript of a pre-proposal virtual site visit for the Yellowstone Bridge Preservation Project (Solicitation Number 140P2025R0051). The project involves rehabilitation and preservation of five existing bridges located within Yellowstone National Park, including Bridge Bay Bridge, Gibbon River Bridge (#5), Old Faithful Interchange Bridge, Firehole River Bridge (Midway), and Firehole River Bridge (#3).
The scope of work includes in-water scour mitigation, erosion repair, concrete spa repair, crack sealing, epoxy overlays, hydro demolition, bridge deck repair, timber deck replacement, structural steel painting, railing repair, and traffic control. The bridges are located across different areas of the park, including near Yellowstone Lake, Madison Junction, and Old Faithful. Key project details include work restrictions (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday-Friday), wildlife and cultural resource protection requirements, and specific traffic management guidelines for each bridge location. The National Park Service anticipates awarding the contract this year, with work to be conducted during the park's busiest tourist season.

Murphy, Shellie A 0:43
Good afternoon, everybody.
Looks like we've got some people.
Dyllon Robertus 0:48
Hello.
Murphy, Shellie A 0:48
Trickling in.
Good afternoon.
Can I go ahead?
OK.
So good afternoon.
I'm Shelly Murphy.
I'm the contracting officer for this. For this project, the Yellowstone PMAS 338221 and you see the solicitation number on the screen.
So what we're gonna do is we're gonna go on ahead and start.
We just to let everybody know we are recording.
This virtual site visit if for some reason.
At the end we have technical difficulties and can't post the recording itself.
We will post the transcripts and also a copy of these slides out on sam.gov. OK.
Let's go to the next page.
So here's our agenda.
We will go around to the Park Service intros and then move on.
We will take a list of everybody that is attending. If you do have multiple people in a conference room or sharing the call, if you can just let us know so that we can make sure and post that of who's attended today, I would appreciate it.
Again, I'm Shelly Murphy.
I'm the contracting officer for the project.
For Denver Service Center I sit in Denver, really excited to get this project going and and to see all the interest, I'm going to turn it over to Dane.
Cooper, Dane C 2:29
Yep. Thank you, Shelly.
My name is Dan Cooper.
I'm a contract specialist with Denver Service Center and just like Shelly excited to get this one launched.
Murphy, Shellie A 2:40
Thanks stane.
I don't know.
I don't think Owen is on.
He's our project manager.
He's oh, he is on.
Excuse me.
Sorry, Owen.
Snell, Owen R 2:54
I'll get it.
Shelly Owens Snell, project manager, Denver Service Center, Transportation Division, and yeah, I'll just echo same comments from Dane and Shelley.
It's a good infrastructure project for the park and they're looking looking forward to
DSC delivering it for them.
Baker, Jennifer K 3:12
Morning, everyone. Or I guess afternoon.
I'm Jen Baker, project specialist, sitting in Silverton, Co, for the Denver Service center.
And I support.
Owen Shelley and Dane on this project.
Murphy, Shellie A 3:27
And then Owen or Jen, do you want to?
It doesn't look like Miss Sally is on.
The call.
Do you wanna identify who she is for the park?
Baker, Jennifer K 3:41
Yeah. So Sally Bartendale works for Yellowstone.
She will be the project point of contact.
She's the parks project manager, so anything that you would need to coordinate like requests for.
Like staging clearance, wildlife clearance, it would come through Shelley and go to her.
But she'll be the day-to-day contact for the project at the park.
Murphy, Shellie A 4:09
Thank you.
Thanks, Jen. I appreciate it.
So again moving forward on the agenda, we're just gonna go through each of the topics. We're gonna go over briefly through the specs or through the drawings.
Excuse me.
And at the end we'll have some questions and then also again kind of reiterating who to contact who your points of contact are.
For any questions and comments.
At the end.
So next slide, and I'm gonna turn it over to Jen and Owen to go through the scope and the specs. Thanks.
Baker, Jennifer K 4:52
All right.
So I'll just walk through our summary of scope, some general project location information, some work site restrictions related to work hours, traffic control, wildlife cultural resources, and then I'll hand it off to Owen to walk through the plan set a bit.
So for the work under this contract, it's really focused on rehabilitation and preservation of five existing.
Structures.
Inside Yellowstone.
The category of the bridges to be worked on is category BC and B bridges.
And for funding, we have high expectations that funds will be available to award the contract this year.
And our general scope of work includes for in water portion scour mitigation and erosion repair, which includes some rip rap placements.
And this will be accompanied by temporary stream diversions for out of water work we have concrete spa repair, concrete, crack seal, epoxy overlays, repair and repointing of existing stone masonry scour. Countermeasure placement, hydro demolition and concrete bridge deck repair.
We have some timber deck replacement joint ceiling repair, structural steel painting railing repair.
Use of.
Containment systems that accompanies the bridge concrete deck repair asphalt paving and then big focus on traffic control for this project.
So structure locations.
Not sure how many folks are familiar with Yellowstone, but part of the park is in
Montana, part of the park is in Wyoming.
The closest town is at the West entrance, called of the park, and the the town is called White Yellowstone.
Closest structure to that is the Gibbon River bridge, #5 and that bridge repair will focus mainly on some brailing repair.
And then if you travel further South, we have fire hole bridge.
Midway Geyser and that is a bridge that's actually located near the Grand Prismatic spring within the park. And then if you travel further South and you get near the old faithful complex, we have an interchange structure that had previously been worked on that has some erosion issues that.
We're going to address on that structure.
And close to that like right after the old faithful area you crossed the fire Hole River bridge #3.
And then the furthest to the east structure near Yellowstone Lake is Bridge Bay
Bridge and there is an active Marina that the bridge spans that waterway.
So it presents some unique constraints for conducting project work there.
And then this is just for reference. For those not familiar with the park, it does take a while to drive between different.
Current locations within the park.
So this is just provides general mileage.
And then things to be aware of, like traffic jams.
People stop to take pictures for the animal jams within the park and we've provided a location just for further park information and notices.
That may go out regarding.
Active instance in the park.
Things impact traffic, other construction projects.
Et cetera.
And then to get into some of the other work under other contracts that will be happening around the time of this project, there's quite a few.
I believe we have 13 here noted and you can find this all within the contracts specifications, but it's just to bring attention to the fact that there's a lot of construction going on within Yellowstone.
And to be able to plan around potential impacts to the work that you would be doing.
On your site and further coordination needed with park.
Really heavy on advance notices for certain work activities so that park can plan and put out public notices.
So we'll dive into some of the work restrictions. So specifically for the work hours.
Generally, it's 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or one hour before sunset, whichever is sooner
Monday through Friday.
Weekend and early morning work may be permitted upon request and approval by the Co, lane closures will not be permitted on federal holidays.
And then there's a few other.
Time of year and and day restrictions.
Related to traffic control that are outlined in the specifications.
And then we we wanted to touch on some of the more important traffic control related.
Work restrictions related to each structure here.
So for lane closures, the contractors required to provide Park representative minimum of four weeks advance notice to allow the NPS time for notification to the public.
Specifically for Bridge Bay Bridge.
We were allowing one lane traffic needs to be flowing through the site at all times.
Do not backup traffic blocking the entrance to the campground or the Marina.
It's pretty close, I would say.
Owen, maybe like a quarter mile up the road from the structures, the entrance to the campground, Marina.
Night work, if it's requested, you need to provide at least 14 days notice and work cannot be loud if it occurs when the campground is open.
And the campground dates, which they're open changes each season. So that would be information that we could get from the park as soon as they were.
Able to plow the main park roads and establish when their work crews can get in and prepare the campground and Marina for operations for the season.
If a closure is requested, like a full closure for the structure, you need to provide at least 28 days notice, and the closure must be scheduled between 1:00 AM and 5:00
AM. Traffic must be escorted through the closure at least once an hour, or when traffic shows.
Up.
And this is because this structure is on the grand Loop Rd. through the park, which is carries a lot of vehicles each day.
And that's also why the hours are at 1:00 AM to 5:00 AM.
Activities such as containment and painting that may impact the clearance height underneath the bridge must meet the following requirements. You must maintain at least a 20 foot wide boating lane that is located in the deepest part of the channel.
You must maintain a 13 foot height clearance from the water level to the bottom of the bridge in this lane.
Closures or delays to boats must be pre-approved by the Co and posted to all users of the Marina.
And for the the closures or delays you need to submit a plan for approval that covers the closure or delay with the wording and methods will be communicated to the public on your notification sign.
For the Gibbon River Bridge, one lane traffic is allowed.
Do not back up traffic and block the Madison Junction or the entrance to the picnic area. Visitor Information Entrance Road or the entrance to Firehole Canyon Drive and then no loud noise work will be approved outside of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM work window.
For the old Faithful interchange bridge, one lane traffic is allowed and do not back traffic up on the Grand Loop Rd.
For midway, Fire Hole River Bridge closure is allowed before June 22nd 2026 and after September 9th 2026.
By November 1st, the bridge must be open and safe for winter use.
Wheeled access to the site is generally not allowed after mid November.
Provide all barricades and signs.
Needed to block the entrance access to the overlook is allowed from the trail W of the Bridge access pass the overlook towards the bridge needs to be blocked and signed.
And I think we can kind of go over this one, Owen, when you're doing plan review like what the intent is with the closures because of where the trail accesses are.
Work may begin on site in mid-april as soon as the Grand Loop is plowed and open to administrative traffic.
However, the contractor may need to remove some snow from the work area itself.
For file fire Hole River Bridge number 31, lane traffic is allowed.
Do not back up traffic past the entrance to the government area or Kepler cascades.
If night work is requested, please provide 14 days notice. Work at night cannot be loud if it occurs prior to October 1st. If a closure is requested, provide 28 days. Notice the Clos.
Must be between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM.
And similar to Bridge Bay Bridge, you must escort traffic through the closure.
At least once an hour, or when traffic shows up, contractor should also coordinate with the Co and Park representative for park passes for their crew, and then you need to allow 14 days for passes to be printed and distributed.
Kind of jumping into the some of the wildlife for the project. There are migratory birds in the area and our park reps will provide those bird surveys to clear structures.
You need to provide a minimum 14 day notice to the Co for when bird surveys are needed.
No ground clearing or vegetation removal shall take take place between March 1st and August 15th without prior ground nesting. Serving clearance by that park representative.
If bald Eagle, golden eagle, peregrine Falcon or ferruginous hawk nests are observed within one mile of the project, notify the CEO immediately.
For bighorn sheep. If they're observed within the project area, suspend your operations and notify the CEO immediately.
The Co will inform the contractor when work can resume at that Discovery site.
For Baron Wolf, notify the CEO immediately if a bear, wolf remains within the 650 feet of the construction activities, any carryon or roadkill is within 650 feet of the construction activities or suspend operations where there is a potential human animal conflict, the.
Co will inform the contractor when work can resume in those areas.
For cultural resources protection.
No disturbance of historic or cultural features shall.
Look her.
No artifact shall be collected and if archaeological or historical resources are discovered, work shall stop at the Discovery site.
The discovery shall be protected as required and the park cultural resource specialist shall be notified as soon as possible.
Information photographs regarding the location, size, and nature of discovery should be provided to the park.
Contact if possible, if any previously unidentified cultural materials are discovered during construction.
Work in the area shall halt immediately, and the NPS and SHIPPO staff be contacted.
The materials would be evaluated by an archaeologist or historian meeting these specific qualifications and then the Co would notify you when work could continue at the site.
For an in person site visit, it'll be permitted. For this project you need to provide.
Name of the contractor name of the person visiting the site and the dates contractor will be on site to Shelley and Dane by Wednesday.
2:00 PM Mountain time and this is to.
Provide an opportunity to visit the structures before questions or due on the 21st.
And this is just next bullet plan your visit.
Yellowstone is just a link to provide you information about what currently is going on at Yellowstone that might impact your ability to visit structures, traffic, etc.
For the fire Hole River Bridge at Midway, it's the Fairy Falls trailhead. Parking it can get very busy with visitors, and it's recommended to arrive by 8:00 AM to ensure you get parking for the Gibbon River.
Old Faithful Interchange Bridge Bay Bridge and fire hole #3 Bridge parking is available as identified in the staging areas in the plan set for each of the structures.
Or adjacent to the structures with sufficient pull off spaces for safe accessibility, and what that means is you get your tires off the fog line.
If your tires are touching the paint, it's not safe to park there.
And then contractor should use appropriate PPE when visiting the site.
All right. Owen, I'm gonna hand it off to you.
To take over for plan review, I'll stop sharing.
Snell, Owen R 19:01
Thanks Jen.
Cover sheet.
Is that showing Jen?
Baker, Jennifer K 19:12
Yes.
Snell, Owen R 19:13
OK.
OK, so as kind of detail and content that we were trying to share here, this is
Yellowstone. This is one of our signature parks in the system.
This is one of the most popular to visit. This work will occur during the most busy times during the park.
And so our intent is just to share all information that we have just to help inform.
Bidding process.
And the development of the scope on this. So as Jen had said, we have 5 structures in this project.
Bridge Bay Bridge over on Yellowstone Lake. Gibbon River Bridge, #5 right at the
Madison junction.
And Old Faithful interchange right at right at basically the turn for old faithful are the schedule structures and then organize.
We have two options Firehole River midway.
And then Firehole River Bridge #3 as separate options. Each structure is its own contract line item and is organized as a as a lump sum item.
So just to take a tour through the plans and try to communicate what the plans are are organized as.
Seat 4 here shows general reference of each of the structures, each one, aside from
Firehole midway are on the Grand Loop Rd.
Firehole midway is a pedestrian structure that does see some traffic in the winter from.
No machines, but every other structure, along with Old Faithful interchange goes over the the Grand Loop. Each one of those is on is on the Grand Loop Rd.
So each structure we've given an area map referencing this one is given river.
So where the structure is and then where staging is allowed for each, this shows a pull off just up up the road with some dimensions and adjacent parking lot there.
For Gibbon, River staging will be also allowed on the structure with a single lane access.
Old Faithful interchange, as you can see, is kind of a Clover leaf shape, but it passes over Grand Loop Rd. staging for this one is located just off of Grand Loop Rd.
Higher hole #3 again references a few staging locations.
There's some pull offs on the road.
And then reference to wastewater treatment plant.
Bridge Bay Bridge Jen referenced the Marina active Marina and adjacent campground.
You can see those in the area.
This is sheet 8. Campground is located here.
Marina is located there.
There are some spaces allowed for contractor parking vehicles at the far end of the
Marina, and then there's a larger staging location in one of the parks pits just down the way.
Along with some other turn offs that could be utilized for vehicle or some equipment parking.
The specifications also identify the travel.
Traffic restrictions and what is allowable for Bridge Bay Bridge as well.
This is Midway Geyser again.
This is grand Loop Rd. traveling here.
The structure is located right here. The turn off and everything here can be used for staging.
The park is allowing the parking lot here to be closed since access to the overlook for
Grand Prismatic will be closed during construction.
This is a very popular.
Destination for visitors this is this is the structure that was referenced to if visiting
Yellowstone.
To arrive before 8 for access to this structure.
Jen referenced additional trail closures, so.
Visitors would park in this lot here across the structure and then come down a trail.
Let's see here is parking crossing the river and then come down trail along the forest edge here and then kind of come up to an overlook around here.
There is another way into this trail and Yellowstone.
On the required another sign to be located adjacent to that trail section here at Map
B.
Just showing that no access beyond this way during construction.
Next kind of set of sheets will be the temporary erosion sediment controls.
This I'll probably just jump through to Bridge Bay Bridge, one of the structures in the schedule just and then stay with those drawings to show you for reference.
So Bridge Bay Bridge, we identify the limits of construction, where contractors will have access below the structures where work is needed.
This one shows it on this quadrant of the structure.
This also has a.
A.
White bark pine was identified in the area and there's a special.
Ensign, not special fencing, but there is restriction fencing needed around that to protect that that species.
So jumping ahead to Bridge Bay Bridge.
Each structure is organized with a general plan elevation to start.
Within that, there is notes describing the work and then references to details with numbers.
Referencing to the the next few pages of the structure.
Peers are identified and flow of of the either river or or lake water as well.
General typical sections give an overview of the size of the structure and typical measurements of either the concrete deck or railings or or beams.
So this gets into the the main descriptions of work for each structure as referenced, each one is numbered, and then correlates back to the plan overview.
There's a summary of each type of work, and then a quantity of that type of work, and then a reference to a detail.
Excuse me, quantities are provided as informational, but as I've mentioned in the beginning, each structure is its own line item and is a a lump sum item.
So Bridge Bay Bridge is significant for importance. There's currently.
Sorry about that.
There is currently some holes that have developed on the structure as evidence in here in detail 12.
The park has placed some steel plates over. Those traffic is still allowed on there, but as a priority I would, I would say Bridge Bay Bridge is is definitely one of the priorities of of attention for for this project because of the the hole.
This work.
Is preservation maintenance work?
So a lot of this, this work and detail that you see is working to extend the the service life of the transportation facility before it becomes a full replacement.
That's our goal with this project and that's the intent for what we're trying to deliver for the park.
Skipping ahead.
So after those plans reference to the details and the scopes at work, the descriptions, the quantities, the end of this drawing set has the actual details.
So concrete spaw repair these are referenced.
I'll go backwards a little bit.
I apologize.
These are referenced for clean and sealed northbot Min expansion joint D detail there with each number.
So again, each each sheet has more descriptions at the back for what?
Each of those details show documenting some other dimensions on how those quantities are calculated.
Where the extent and the scope of the work is sizing of reinforcing all of your kind of standard information for for details.
Some information is shared, so this one for paint railings and steel girders. This is a applicable work for a few of different structures given River, Bridge Bay and fire Hole
Midway Geyser.
And then some standard details for temporary segment erosion control.
And tracking.
And that's the typical organization of the plan set.
Jen, can you add anything?
Baker, Jennifer K 29:16
Yeah. Did you wanna talk about the intent of placing scour? Countermeasures under
Fire Hole Bridge, #3 and crossing the river.
Snell, Owen R 29:28
Good points. I spent time on Midway and didn't talk about that one, so.
Go backwards, Jen, to the temporary.
Yeah, this one shows it.
So Firehole River Bridge #3 the pier on the West side here.
Similar to where Bridge Bay Bridge, where we showed one point of access to get underneath the structure, we have one point of access identified to get down to place the scour counter measures.
It's just off of Grand Loop Rd.
There is a allowable limit of construction down this way, and then a crossing.
Provided here to be able to access that pier.
I'll skip ahead to that section.
This plan and elevation gives a little more detail of it.
Here too is the location of the scour. You can see without some of the hatches, some of the access way down.
It's it's a very defined area.
Because there are wetlands and other.
Critical resources there that we're trying to limit disturbances of.
There's a section section section.
And then detail one here shows that location of the pier.
Baker, Jennifer K 31:15
And just to add on for that structure, there's gonna be an access plan.
For understanding how many loads will be traveling down the slope and impacting temporarily impacting vegetation in that area.
And I believe it's captured in the general notes on the either this sheet or the staging sheet.
Yep.
Yeah. Was there anything else you wanted to touch on fire whole midway regarding the?
Scour or any of the.
Snell, Owen R 32:09
No, we do have some time. So I can go backwards to.
Oh, I guess sorry.
After that I apologize.
We talked about Midway's access.
#3 Bridge Bay.
Fire hall midway.
That's given.
Baker, Jennifer K 32:28
If you go back to fire hole midway.
There are on the let me see which way is north.
So on the southeast corner, well, there's active thermals like all around the structure, mainly the northwest and South SE quadrants of the structure have active thermals and so.
The intent with some of the repairs is to kind of fix the grading so that.
Water is not crossing from the thermals, crossing the structure and.
Causing some ponding issues and therefore leading to icing issues for the pedestrian traffic on the structure to fix some of that.
Yeah. And then in the Southwest, no SE Quadrant is where there is a large scour hole that's underneath the water line.
Of I guess you wanna call it an abutment wing wall. It's a funky structure.
That the intent is.
To fill that void.
And like without putting any, I guess caustic materials in the water to do so.
With yeah.
Snell, Owen R 33:51
Yep.
Yeah. So the overall plan showed kind of where those thermal flows are are and then looking at the.
Activity.
A log curve to be installed along this edge to help direct the flow. There's a masonry wall here.
That that curb is connecting to scour protection is in this corner and we can go to some photos there.
There's a new vehicle access gate to be installed.
Calls on the parking lot side there.
And then construction of a new ditch along this NE edge as well.
Again, just to try to divert and and collect that that feature.
That's draining across the trail now and then. Of course, the steel and timber bridge there.
Uh.
Action of the bridge.
And then the Gopa work photos and details.
So this is that low masonry wall on the far side.
This shows the side where the ditch would be constructed.
Some of the flow happening over it.
Baker, Jennifer K 35:06
That's that's actually the log that side where the log will be.
Placed and then on the southwest corner, that's where we'll have the ditch constructed.
Snell, Owen R 35:22
This side that's the log curve right there, Jen. Yep.
Baker, Jennifer K 35:24
Yep. Oh, you're right. You're right.
Yeah. OK.
It's backwards in my mind.
Snell, Owen R 35:30
Yeah.
So then that gets them back into the details.
So which other one did we not touch on Gibbon with a little more detail?
We have some time.
Baker, Jennifer K 35:40
Yeah, Gibbon is a high safety priority for the park.
There was.
I think it was a construction, I don't know, concrete truck or something that it.
So this is on a curve that's on a steep hill, which doesn't help it.
So there's a lot of, I think thought that will need to be put into the traffic control and where some of the awarding signs go. But yeah, it's it's a blind curve. I think the speed limits, I don't 45 miles an hour.
And the the railing was damaged on one side and it needs to be repaired so it has like ability to provide competent protection should another vehicle crash into it.
Snell, Owen R 36:24
Yep, Yep.
So this is a downhill approach to the structure.
There's a a main intersection up here.
That kind of begins the the grand loop.
And then.
Parking area with with restroom facilities right here too.
That gets a lot of use, so every site you know is is very busy with traffic and visitors.
So I'll jump to that one real quick.
So not as much work on this. Everything from the deck, but as Jen said, you know traffic control and you know contractor and you know safety protection, it will be, you know important on this one.
Elevation of the structure.
So Reline railing clean and paint railing, reset railing sleeve joint and replace anchor boats are the work activities.
Paint railing is for actually both sides of it, not just the one that was damaged, so.
And then.
I'll jump backwards again to old faithful.
Oh, that's the other way, apologies.
Murphy, Shellie A 37:35
Hey, before you continue, Owen, going back to the painting both sides, does it indicate that somewhere on that plan sheet by chance?
Snell, Owen R 37:40
Mm-hmm.
Murphy, Shellie A 37:46
Clearly indicate I should say.
Snell, Owen R 37:46
Baker, Jennifer K 37:52
Yeah, it's it.
Snell, Owen R 37:53
Just seeing if we had it.
Baker, Jennifer K 37:54
There's arrows on both sides of the railing on that aerial that you were just on, Owen.
Let's say clean and paint.
Murphy, Shellie A 38:00
OK, perfect.
Snell, Owen R 38:00
Yep. And then the summary there too.
Murphy, Shellie A 38:03
Copy. Thank you.
Snell, Owen R 38:05
Did you wanna take a question Shelly or or?
Have it.
Have it submitted.
Murphy, Shellie A 38:13
You can go ahead, Chris.
I see your hand up.
Kris Anderson 38:18
It's clean and paint.
Does that? Do you know if it's a full blast or is it just clean and loose stuff and repainting?
Snell, Owen R 38:30
Are you able to to check Jen or?
Baker, Jennifer K 38:32
Yeah.
Snell, Owen R 38:34
We can refer to.
Baker, Jennifer K 38:35
I I think yeah, I can look at what it is.
Murphy, Shellie A 38:41
And and this is.
Baker, Jennifer K 38:41
And double check before I got answer.
Murphy, Shellie A 38:43
On this is on Gibbon River bridge.
Baker, Jennifer K 38:46
Correct.
Murphy, Shellie A 38:47
K thanks.
Snell, Owen R 38:48
990.
P990.
Our detail says limits of cleaning, remove loose paint and painting.
Bridge Rail existing paint not removed will be encapsulated with a new paint and primer system.
Paint removal methods still not damage galvanized coating that is below the existing paint if present.
Murphy, Shellie A 39:43
And what?
Kris Anderson 39:43
Murphy, Shellie A 39:44
What page is that?
I don't.
You've got it in.
Snell, Owen R 39:47
Yep, 47 of 63, shall we?
Murphy, Shellie A 39:48
Uh.
Snell, Owen R 40:01
And for painting.
I'm gonna get to an example.
I thought we had it there.
Baker, Jennifer K 40:15
I think the other thing I'll say, Owen, while you're looking through the plans is we provide quantities for reference only and contractor should verify quantities.
Snell, Owen R 40:31
Yeah. Thanks John.
Baker, Jennifer K 40:33
Yeah. Looking at the deck overhang made me think of that.
And you know, we scope this a year ago.
And so conditions can change between scoping and construction.
Snell, Owen R 40:53
So last one in detail was Old Faithful interchange.
This is 2 way traffic.
Across the bridge.
And this one, as Jen had reference in the initial part is working to improve some runoff and drainage after Old Faithful was repaired a few years ago, there was some.
Asphalt curbs that have significantly deteriorated some erosion at the abutments that is starting to develop.
And a need for some additional culverts for collection and then dispersement of of the runoff so.
This is an existing culvert to be cleaned.
This references the asphalt curb and gravel shoulder to be replaced.
Regrade soil.
Umm.
And then install two buried pipe rundowns.
So our plan kind of shows those locations and and size of those.
We had identified a couple different access points here that are that are cleared for construction.
Contractor doesn't have to access there if they're able to adequately work from the paved area and install these from the road down, that's certainly an option.
We just weren't trying to limit that.
That process on on this structure.
And then I think at the end I've skipped over it.
But there was, you know, references of those inlet drop structures and pipes as well here.
Yeah, there's some new concrete curb and grading to those inlets.
Anchors and then little rip rap dissipations at the end of EM.
Drop inlet structure.
And some grading.
Any other scope items Jen to highlight for everyone?
Baker, Jennifer K 43:16
No, I think everything else is pretty basic.
Nuts and bolts, so to speak.
Snell, Owen R 43:21
Baker, Jennifer K 43:24
Hi I can.
Take over on the presentation.
Hey and then I'm gonna get to work.
Second to last slide here and hand it over to Dane.
Cooper, Dane C 43:45
Yep. Thanks Jen.
OK.
So we will open to questions here at this point.
So questions will go to both me and Shelly and we will post these on sam.gov as well.
So just a reminder again on dates 21st of July is the cutoff and.
Tomorrow.
16th is the.
You cut off for submitting your request to do the actual in person site visit.
Chad Vaughn 44:32
Excuse me.
I had a question about tomorrow's date.
Cooper, Dane C 44:34
Chad Vaughn 44:36
Would that only be required if you're trying to get the park to give you a pass to get in to look at the sites or?
What would?
What would be that?
I just I not sure if I'm gonna be able to get down there, but I am possibly looking to get to site.
And I would just use my park pass, I guess to get in if if necessary. So please clarify.
Baker, Jennifer K 44:59
Yeah, the intent is to notify the park, like vehicles that would be stopped in the roadway looking at structures, what you're doing and that you have permission to do it.
So if you can't make it by the date, but you still want to go visit the sites, I would still put in for request and just make a note that you intend to visit like what dates you intend to visit, and then we can get a letter ISS.
That you would show when you come through the park entrance.
Chad Vaughn 45:34
Cooper, Dane C 45:38
Any other questions regarding that?
Amber 45:43
You want those requests by tomorrow.
Cooper, Dane C 45:51
Yes, tomorrow.
Murphy, Shellie A 45:51
Cooper, Dane C 45:52
What do we say 4:00 mountain time?
Amber 45:57
Baker, Jennifer K 45:57
Cooper, Dane C 46:02
And that's just an e-mail to myself and Shelley Murphy.
Snell, Owen R 46:11
Yeah, if you're if you're planning on visiting later and later this week or weekend, that's that's fine.
It was.
It was just to coordinate the request to the park that, hey, we have contractors that are interested in the project that wanna look at some of the scopes inside areas. And as Jen said, just to notify them, if if Rangers or other park personnel, you know see people.
Stopped. Pull.
Looking at a structure like that.
Cooper, Dane C 46:46
Anything else? Any less questions?
OK, great.
Well, if you do have additional questions, again, please submit those to Shelley and myself and we'll get you a response and they will post it on sam.gov.
That concludes our presentation.
So thank you everybody for your attendance and interest in this project and.
Hey.
