Amendment: 0001
Subject: Request for Information Responses, CHIC 313113
1. Is there a virtual prebid meeting?
There will not be a coordinated site visit, though you are encouraged to visit the site. If you tell the entrance station that you are bidding the project, they should allow you passage into the location without paying a fee.
2. Is it possible to post quantities for this project?
We are not going to be posting quantities. This is a firm fixed price contract, and contractors will provide the product we specify in the solicitation for a single price. The quantities are the offerors to calculate. We do not want to give incorrect numbers;
therefore we do require the contractor to calculate the quantities.
3. Full Depth Pavement Patch Repair Detail: It states replacement of the full depth of existing pavement or greater; Are you able to provide us with the depth of the existing pavement?
See the provided Geotech boring log for more information of existing asphalt depth.
4. On Page 5 – HMA Overlay Pavement section: States laying 1.25” HMA, PG 76E-28. Are you able to tell us if the type of asphalt being called for?
Asphalt details and job mix formula (JMF) is identified in spec section 32.12.16
5. On Page 15 – Calls for rock excavation; Are you able to again provide us with the depth of the rock that is to be excavated? What material is required to be used in replacement of the existing rock? If rock is needed to be excavated in other areas of the project, will that be included in the base bid or will that be a separate pay item added?
Rock excavation shall be to the depth necessary to place 4” of HMA and 6” of ABC (10” total)
A0001 2/1/2023
6. Regarding the herbicide expected to be sprayed; are you able to provide us with a preferred list of herbicides that have been approved?
No herbicide list is provided now. Herbicide shall be approved by the Park prior to application.
7. Could you provide some clarification on Question #2 on the Project Experience Questionnaire? I’m not quite understanding what information is needed from us.
You should use the Project Experience form to respond to the Project Experience Factor, #1 on page 53 of the RFP.
8. Can you confirm who the bond is to be made out to?
The principal is the name of the company submitting the bond, and the surety is the name of the bonding company. You fill out the “Bid Identification” section with the RFP number, Due Date, and project name.
9. Are you giving any consideration into extending the current bid date? It would certainly be a help to us.
Yes. The bid due date is extended to February 10, 2023 at 3pm MT (Denver local time).
and between September 6 and November 30, 2023 (Cedar Blue
Entrance closure requires CO approval)

(b) The Contracting Officer shall investigate the site conditions promptly after receiving the notice. If the conditions do materially so differ and cause an increase or decrease in the Contractor’s cost of, or the time required for, performing any part of the work under this contract, whether or not changed as a result of the conditions, an equitable adjustment shall be made under this clause and the contract modified in writing accordingly.
(c) No request by the Contractor for an equitable adjustment to the contract under this clause shall be allowed, unless the Contractor has given the written notice required; provided, that the time prescribed in paragraph (a) of this clause for giving written notice may be extended by the Contracting Officer.

Pavement Evaluation and Design Report Chickasaw Recreation Area, Park Roads ■ Murray County, Oklahoma September 20, 2021 ■ Terracon Project No. 03215042 Revision No. 1
Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable Exhibit A-6
Field Exploration Description
The pavement and subgrade were evaluated at twenty nine locations on July 27 - 29, 2021. The pavement was cored with a 6-inch diameter diamond bit and a hand auger was used to extend the borings to depths of about 3 feet below the surface of the asphalt pavement at the approximate locations shown on the attached Exhibits A-2 to A-5 Exploration Plans.
The stiffness/relative density of the subgrade materials was assessed with a dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP), and disturbed samples were obtained from the auger cuttings. The DCP consists of a 17.6 pound slide hammer falling 22.6 inches onto an anvil driving a 0.79 inch diameter cone into the soil. The number of blows required to drive the cone is recorded along with the penetration depth and roughly corresponds to the California Bearing Ratio, CBR. The
CBR is a strength measure comparing the penetration resistance of compacted soil to that of densely compacted crushed rock.
The sampling depths, soil descriptions, and laboratory test results are reported on the boring logs. The samples were tagged for identification, sealed to reduce moisture loss and returned to the laboratory for further examination, testing and classification.
Field logs were prepared as part of the coring and hand auger operations. These boring logs included visual classifications of the materials encountered during drilling and the field personnel’s interpretation of the subsurface conditions between samples. The final boring logs included with this report may include modifications based on observations and tests of the samples in the laboratory.
