18. We have a bidding eligibility question please: The RFP has been issued under NAICS 238210, Electrical Contractors. Our question is may we bid under 236220 and subcontract the licensed trades, or must the offeror be a licensed electrician. The work does involve restoration of historic finishes, sprinkler, electrical, and fire alarm so we believe this is a reasonable consideration. Please advise at your earliest convenience so that we can know as soon as possible if we are eligible to submit a proposal.

Response: In Note 3, the term “Mag Lock” should be replaced by “magnetic door hold open”. Contractor shall determine existing panel location power source for existing magnetic door hold open and shall provide the power to the new magnetic door hold opens from the same circuit, new circuit from the same panel or another panel with available spare capacity for a new circuit. Response: Existing panels are powered on 120VAC circuits from building electrical panels. Detail #5 indicates the existing FACPs, where indicated on the demolition floor plans, shall be removed in accordance with the detail, accounting for the network wiring described in the detail. Drawing FA7.1 indicates the anticipated new panel arrangement. These shall be powered from the existing circuit serving the existing panel to be removed, unless the combined load of all the new panels exceeds the electric circuit capacity. If circuit capacity is exceeded, a new power circuit from an available spare circuit will be required. Refer to FA0.0 Note 9.

21. Are there any particular rooms that we can use to run our conduit riser from each FACP from floor to floor and core drill?

Response: Core drilling would generally be anticipated to be limited to floor/ceiling in the rooms occupying the FACP if existing conduit pathways cannot be reused. Since these rooms do not stack in many locations from floor to floor, the riser wiring may need to route through the ceiling space as required to get to the floor above/below. Contractor can propose adjacent closet spaces and/or shaft space for routing only if existing pathways cannot be reused and if locations have been reviewed and approved by the Contracting Officer. Refer to FA0.0 sheet General Notes 21, 24, 34 and General Note 1 on New Work FA2.1 thru FA4.4 sheets.
