About this file
This is Amendment 0001 to Solicitation 140P1526Q0059 for SAGU Mule Packing Services issued by the National Park Service, Contracting Operations - Central on March 26, 2026. The amendment provides Government responses to three questions submitted by offerors regarding the scope and logistics of pack trips. The due date remains unchanged, and offerors must acknowledge the amendment with their quote package.
The Government responses clarify that travel may occur year-round with one trip projected for late May and additional trips anticipated during summer months. Trip frequency varies based on project workload, with potential for one or more day trips in a single week and overnight trips not exceeding one per week. All trailheads used for packing under the contract can accommodate a 24-foot gooseneck trailer, eliminating the need for multiple smaller trailer trips. The contract period of performance is May 1, 2026 through April 30, 2029. Offerors responding to this solicitation must acknowledge receipt of this amendment prior to the specified bid opening deadline by completing the required form items or submitting a separate letter or electronic communication that references the solicitation and amendment numbers.

Questions and Government Responses listed below:
Question # Question Answer/Response 1 Do you know approximately what time of year these pack trips will be?
Travel may take place year-round. At present, one trip is projected for late May, with additional trips anticipated during the summer months.
2 Do you know the estimated frequency of them for example once a week or several single day trips in a week or two time etc.
The frequency of the trips will vary depending on project workload. Trips could consist of 1 or more day trips in a single week depending on project needs, timing, weather, etc... Overnight trips would not be more frequent than 1 per week.
3 Are the access roads/ parking area into the trailhead large enough for a 24ft gooseneck trailer or would we need to tram stock in on multiple smaller trailer trips?
All trailheads to be used for packing under this contract can accommodate a 24ft gooseneck trailer
