About this file

This document is an Amendment (#001) to a federal solicitation for the purchase of hydrohoists for Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (GLCA). The solicitation (#140P1525Q0140) seeks 12 boat lifts with specific requirements, including two larger lifts with a potential 36,000-lb capacity (though 32,000-lb units are acceptable) and 10 additional lifts with a 15' slip width. The lifts are for Munson boats custom-made for the park, with a beam up to 14'.

The amendment includes a series of questions and answers that clarify technical specifications, delivery, and installation details. Key points include: lifts will be shipped unassembled and can be offloaded with a forklift, the National Park Service will handle installation in-house after a new dock is completed, and the slip widths vary between 18' (with possible expansion to 23') for the larger lifts and 15' for the other units. The solicitation is specifically for boat lifts to be delivered to NPS facilities at Glen Canyon NRA in Page, Arizona.

Questions and Government Responses listed below:

QUESTIONS:

Question # Question Answer/Response

1.

What is the specific boat that's going in the

$36,000-lb lifts those lists need to be custom made. Also, what kind of boats will be in the other 10 lifts?

Munson Boats made custom for the

Park.

32,000 lbs. would be acceptable

2.

We don’t have a standard 36,000 lb. lift (standard lift max is at 32,000 lb.) but can build a configuration for this capacity, can you share any additional information on the boats that will be on these lifts? I see the beam is up to 14’, what is the overall length and is this a standard v-hull type boat? Also, it states it should function within a minimum slip width of 23’, do you know the actual slip width that these two lifts will be going into?

Slip Width is 18’ with the possibility of expansion up to 23’ if more room is required to fit lifts.

32,000 lbs. would be acceptable

3. On the ten other lifts, it states it should function within a minimum slip width of 15’, do you know the actual slip width that these two lifts will be going into?

The reason the actual width is important is because the parts are different at different slip widths and want to make sure we quote and ship

Slip width will be 15’ mailto:Taylor_A_Jones@nps.gov

4.

Just to clarify, lifts are all shipped unassembled and as parts that can be off loaded with a forklift.

Yes, we have the capabilities of offloading with a forklift or telehandler

5.

It was noticed you did not request installation; do you have someone capable of doing the assembly and installations?

Yes, we will be installing them in house after the completion of a new dock.

6.

Hydro Hoist does not offer a 15,000 UL2 or a

36,000 UL2. They do offer a 16,000 and a

32,000. I can ask if there is a custom option to go to 36,000. Does the bid need to include labor to install these units?

32,000 lbs. would be acceptable

No Labor, assembly will be done in house.

7.

What is the exact slip width the larger lifts will be installed into?

Slip Width is 18’ with the possibility of expansion up to 23’ if more room is required to fit lifts.
