About this file

This document is an Amendment (Amendment #0002) to a federal solicitation for termite and pest control services at Saguaro National Park. The amendment includes a questions and answers section where potential contractors sought clarification about specific pest control activities. The key questions and responses cover drilling into concrete for bait stations (which was initially denied), past termite activity levels (reported as low), and the status of existing bait stations (to be removed by the last contractor and not used by the new contractor). The solicitation number is 140P1525Q0058, issued by the National Park Service Contracting Operations in Washington, DC, with the contract covering Saguaro National Park located in Tucson, Arizona. The contract appears to be structured as a base period with four potential option years for ongoing termite and pest control services.

1. Can the contractors drill into concrete for potential bait stations, such as in front of the maintenance building?

2. Are there past recorded termite issues at maintenance building?

Termite activity has been low for the past contract, overall.

3. Are the bait stations staying?

No. The current bait stations will be removed from the last contractor. They are not to be removed, used, trashed or destroyed by the new contractor.

4. Contractor noticed drill marks around Annex building, is there recorded termite activity there?
