About this file

This document is an Amendment Questions and Answers (Amendment #0002) for a National Park Service solicitation #140P1525Q0054 concerning backflow preventer replacement at Gateway National Park. The solicitation involves replacing two existing backflow preventers - one 6-inch and one 1.5-inch unit - at the park's location in St. Louis, Missouri. Key details include: the current 6-inch backflow is older and requires replacement, the 1.5-inch backflow has failed inspection, and the installation site for the 6-inch unit is located in a confined space.

Site visit details are available between 3/10/2025 and 3/26/2025, which can be arranged by contacting John Hobbs directly. The contracting officer is Taylor Jones (contact: Taylor_A_Jones@nps.gov, 520-780-9294), and the government has no specific brand preferences for replacement, provided the new backflow preventers are properly sized, compatible, and include a warranty. Interested contractors should carefully review the site-specific conditions and accessibility challenges before submitting a proposal.
