About this file
This document is an Amendment (0001) to Solicitation 140P1525Q0049 for solar system components at Wupatki National Monument, issued by the Department of the Interior National Park Service Intermountain Region. The amendment clarifies technical specifications for a solar panel installation, including increasing the number of panels from 16 to 32 panels (420W PV Modules) to achieve a 12kW system output. The project involves installing solar system components with specific technical requirements for panels, inverters, and battery systems.
The amendment addresses two key Request for Information (RFI) questions, confirming that: (1) component brand substitutions are permitted if they maintain equivalent quality and power output, and (2) the system configuration will be adjusted to ensure a true 12kW output. The project period of performance is scheduled from 04/01/2025 to 05/01/2025, with a project contact being Chris Brothers (928-525-0502, chris_brothers@nps.gov). The solicitation involves procuring solar panel system components for the National Park Service's Wupatki National Monument location in Arizona.

1. QUESTION: Do the system components need to be the same brands and models in the SOW or are substitutions permitted, if necessary, so long as the provided system is engineered to provide the same quality and amount of power/energy? I think we can stay pretty close to what to spec/model/brand for battery, inverter/charger, panels, and rack, with some slight variations of minor components. ANSWER****substitutions are permitted****

2. QUESTION: The SOW calls this a 12kW system, however the amount of PV panels (16) 420 watt is
6.7kW, the (2) parallel inverters amount to a little over 12kW, and the battery bank is 16kWh with peak/instantaneous power output higher than
12kW, and continuous power output that is lower than 12kW . Can you please confirm/clarify?
ANSWER****We are increasing the number of panels
420W PV Module, 132 half-cut Bifacial heterojunction cells, Vmp: 42.2,Imp: 9.96, Voc:
49.1, Isc: 10.74, 73.4" x 40.9" x 1.2 (30mm),
47.6 lbs to 32 panels to match the 12KW output****
