Solicitation # 140P1522Q0088; Amendment# 1. CACH- Patio Pergola Rehab Questions and Government Answers.

General

1. Question: The pictures provided in the pergola scope do not show that the 4x8 beam is attached to the masonry columns or that the 3x8 beams are attached to the 4x8 beam other than toe nailing.

What is the intent of making these tie downs? Does NPS require metal straps or brackets to make these connections other than just a toenail?

Answer: Below are pictures of attachment techniques used during original construction. The intent is in-kind replacement if techniques are best practices.
