Solicitation # 140P1522Q0052; Amendment# 1 Questions and Answers from Site Visit held on May 19th, 2022 General
1. Question: How often are termites an issue at ORPI.
Answer: Coming from the on-park facilities personnel, there have been three recent issues with termites that may be ongoing, including Houses 15 and 39 and Restroom 7. I can't say how often there will be an issue -- maybe one or two structures a year 2-3 times per year on average. It is important for us to notify the contractor when we see evidence of a termite infestation. The contractor will have to work with FM to decide how best to treat each infestation whether it requires trenching, boring, etc. to gain access. And, as always, we need to know what pesticide will be used in advance so we can get approval.
2. Question: How fast of a response time does ORPI expect for a call-out for bees etc.?
Answer: I think the next business day is reasonable or whatever the industry standard is.
3. Question: What are our current bait stations?
Answer: Current stations will be removed by the last contract holder; new stations are required to be installed by the new Awardee, but it would be preferable for the new contractor to reuse the existing bore holes rather than to create new ones -- if that is feasible.
4. Question: How much advance notice does ORPI require to come out and work?
Answer: One-week advance notice is good for a scheduled (not emergency) visit so we can notify LE and residents that there will be strangers walking around. If it is an emergency (i.e., we call them), then we should find out when they can come. They should notify me, Nick, and the chief of resources just to be sure someone is here to receive the message.
5. Question: Is there water or utilities under the manhole covers?
Answer: There are water pipes running through the manholes
6. Question: Will the concrete to which the bait is applied come in contact with the water?
Answer: No, there is no standing water in the manholes unless something is broken.
