About this file
This is Amendment 0001 to Solicitation 140P1426Q0056, issued by the National Park Service (NPS) Intermountain Region (IMR) Northern Rockies Mammoth Area Baseyard Operations (MABO) located in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The amendment extends the closing date and time from 06/02/2026 to 07/15/2026 at 12:00 pm (Noon) Mountain Time, and provides answers to vendor questions regarding the fire protection and safety equipment services requirement.
The solicitation is for fire extinguisher inspection, maintenance, and servicing at multiple locations within Yellowstone National Park. Key clarifications from vendor questions include: this is a new requirement with no incumbent contractor; detailed specifications for paint booth and kitchen fire suppression systems will be provided as "TBD" (to be determined); lodging availability is TBD; fire extinguishers will be gathered at designated locations; information on fusible links specifications is TBD; and all pricing will be firm fixed price for each sub-line item across all five years, with quoters able to account for inflation escalations at their discretion. Quantities for option years (2-5) represent the Government's current best estimates and may increase or decrease; actual requirements will be competed among all BPA awardees with awards to the lowest priced quoter. The Period of Performance is 07/15/2026 to 12/31/2030. TBD answers will be addressed in a second amendment once obtained.

The purpose of this amendment is to extend the closing date and time to 7/15/2026 at 12:00 pm
(Noon) MT and answer vendor questions.
Vendor Questions:
1. Was there an incumbent for this requirement?
Answer: No, this is a new requirement.
2. Can you send the information on the paint booth fire suppression system and the kitchen fire suppression system to know what brands to quote.
Answer: TBD
3. Will there be lodging?
Answer: TBD
4. Will the fire extinguishers be gathered at each location or will we need to walk around and find them all?
Answer: TBD
5. How many of each type of fusible links are on each hood fire protection system? We are required to replace these, so we need to know temperature rating of each, as well as make and model if available.
Answer: TBD
6. Regarding the Price Schedule (Attachment 4):
The Initial Call Price Schedule (Attachment 6) provides a granular, quantity-based breakdown for the first year of performance. However, the subsequent option years in Attachment 4 do not provide detailed line-item quantities for the various service types (Annual, 6-year, Hydro, Recharge). Could the Government clarify the intended methodology for pricing these option years? Specifically:
6a. Does the Government expect a flat, firm-fixed unit price for all five years, or is

140P1426Q0056/0001 there an expectation of submitting price escalations to account for annual inflation and rising operational costs?
Answer: All years will be a firm fixed price for each sub-line item. Regarding the expectation of submitting price escalations to account for inflation or rising costs is up to the quoter if they want to account for those things in the out years.
6b. Should we assume the quantities for option years will remain static and proportional to the Initial Call, or will the
Government provide a more detailed scope/quantity estimate for these years prior to exercising the options?
Answer: The quantities listed for ordering years 2 through 5 represent the
Governments current best estimates. These amounts may increase or decrease, and some line items may show no quantities or may not require services in certain years. Actual requirements will be requested as needed, competed among BPA awardees, and awarded to the vendor providing the lowest priced quote.
TBD answers will be addressed in a 2nd amendment once they answers have been obtained.
The new closing date and time is 7/15/2026.
