The scope of work for this project includes replacement of an existing fire and security system with the design and installation of a fire and security intrusion detection system, installation, and integration of several CCTV cameras on the interior and exterior of the San Jose Visitor Center.
Project Description Existing systems generally comprise commercial fire and security systems over 15 years of age. Many of these systems have exceeded their design life and/or lack coverage or features required by SAAN. This Scope of Work (SOW) is for the of replacement fire and security detection systems and additional security cameras in San Jose VC at SAAN. This project is intended to replace an aged fire and intrusion detection system as well as expand the facility security capabilities of the park by adding CCTVs to an existing system.
The project requires design and installation of fire and security systems. The fire alarm system must provide complete coverage, as defined by NFPA 72, and the intrusion system must provide redundant over lapping coverage using a minimum of dual technology devices offering pet friendly sensitivity. The fire alarm and security systems may be combined, or separated, and may use wireless technology where additional devices are required, however must meet all applicable codes and manufacture requirements. If combined system is used, it must be listed for commercial fire application. The scope allows flexibility for the most efficient methods of integration of additional CCTV however must meet and be approved by park Chief Law Enforcement Officer. At the completion of the new installation, complete demolition and appropriate disposal of existing systems and equipment is required and patching and painting of existing surfaces as required.
One goal of the project is to reuse existing infrastructure and equipment where possible which includes primarily cable, conduit and junction boxes. Visual inspection and continuity tests shall be performed on cable that the contractor deems ready to reuse. If the existing cable is used, it must meet the NEC requirements and covered under the warranty period.
The Contractor shall be responsible for all necessary work to achieve required project outcomes, including labor, equipment, tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), coordination with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), internal construction permits, incidental design, travel, and other related expenses.
The site visit will occur on August 13, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. Please RSVP to the CO by August 10, 2021.
