140P1223Q0015/0005 not practical

- Would applying the primer/topcoat with rollers be acceptable?

A2. Yes

Q3. For the W10x15 I-beams that are miter cut, are they connected to the W12x14 beams by

- bolted on 1/4" bent plate with (2) bolt holes in each leg as shown on the drawing or are they connected by

- ¼" x 8.5" x 6.5" plate w/ 4-holes and welded to the mitered ends as laid out on the spec sheet?

A3. Due to issues with the fabrication of the angle iron being bent to that degree. The engineers' specifications were amended, and we are requesting that the ¼" x 8.5" x 6.5" plate w/

4-holes be welded to the mitered ends as laid out on the spec sheet.

Q4. The plates that the angle iron cross bracing sit on are at different elevations

- At the W12/W10 intersection the plate is 2" below the top flange of the W12/W10 beam

- At the W10/W6 intersection the plate is ~2.5" below the top flange of the W12/W10 beam

Would it be acceptable to move the W6 beam assembly up 0.5" towards the top flange of the

W10 beam?

A4. They can be adjusted to sit at the same distance from the top flange so long as the end product is constructable and fit tested. This discrepancy was discussed with the project engineer and their justification for the difference was the space needed for 2"x2"x1/4" diagonal brace steel to fit under the flange.

Regardless of where the W6 Beam sits on the W10 beam the 2"x2"x1/4", they must be tapered to fit underneath. Therefore, if you would prefer to place them 2" below you may do so.

Q5. Where do the (60) - ¼" Anchor plates

(Section Materials D.f) sit in the assembly? And related to this, what is the bolt hole pattern in the bottom flange of the W12 beam where the bolts would connect them to the Pile Cap?

A5. In order to attach the W12 beam to the helical pile cap, but still have room for error in placement and plumb of the helical pile, we plan to attach them using 4x8x ¼ " brackets. We are asking that the 13/16" holes be made into
