VIDEO AND CLEANING OF SEWER MAINS
ZION NATIONAL PARK
RFQ# 140P1222Q0030
AMENDMENT 01
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
1. QUESTION: Would the National Park Service be able to share drawings/overheads with the pipe and manhole locations? This will help close out questions the contractor has on what equipment needs are to access where they know it is a sensitive area.
ANSWER: Drawings/overheads are not currently available. All manholes can be accessed with a pump/jet truck.
2. QUESTION: Are all pipe access points manholes, clean-outs, or a combination thereof?
Would it be possible to have this distinguished in the drawings as referenced in #1 above?
ANSWER: All access points are manholes.
3. QUESTION: Have the pipes been maintained or cleaned previously on any recurring schedule? The nearest facilities are well over an hour drive for waste disposal so hauling time and cost is a large unknown. As a follow-up, would a separate pay item for waste hauling and disposal be possible?
ANSWER: Pipes have been jetted by Park employees every year and videoed and cleaned by a contractor every 2 years. The estimated amount of waste disposal is approximately 4 to 8 yards based on previous services to clean the sewer mains at Zion National Park. The award will include a lump sum contract line item to perform all services outlined in the Statement of Work.
