140P1221Q0065 Amd 1 Att 2 – Questions and Answers

Q: Please provide clarification on the completion date of the project. The SOW provides different dates.

A: The deadline is October 4 with ultimate completion (removal of equipment and cleanup) no later than Nov 4, 2021. This clarifies SOW statement: “The project must be completed by October 4, 2021. However, all cutting must be halted, work areas cleaned up, and equipment removed by November 4, 2021. “

Q: Unless written authorization is provided by COR, NO contracted work is permitted along Trail Ridge Road (US Highway 34) after Thursday, July 1st, 2021. Please clarify this statement.

A: Trail Ridge Road (Hwy 34) is the priority, and we would like that work completed, if possible, prior to Independence Day weekend due to increased traffic after that date. However, if completion of that portion prior to that date is not possible, we would expect the vendor to coordinate with the COR for approval. The COR will determine at that time if work should continue in that area or wait until later in the season when traffic slows.

Q: Are we able to stack logs on all areas for burning?

A: Regarding piling for burning or stacking for removal: yes, all areas of the project may have logs and debris piled and stacked, so long as each pile location meets the requirements as described on page 8:

Pile locations must be no less than 10 feet from standing trees or designated undergroundutility locations.
Piles edges must be at least 30 feet apart to prevent one pile from igniting the neighboringpile during burn operations.
Piles shall be constructed 50 feet or further from the fog line on road edges
Piles shall not be placed in roads, ditches, or wet areas.
Piles shall not be stacked on slopes such that material may roll during the burning process.

The phrase "stacked for removal" allows contractors to deck logs that will be hauled away if the contractor chooses to take possession of material as described on page 5 in Material Consolidation.

Q: Please confirm the amount of acres on the project. The maps show 76.9 and the scope of work says about 125.

A: The Park made an error with the 125. Yes, approx. 79 acres is correct. Change has been made in SOW accompanying solicitation amendment 1.
