About this file

The file is a Q&A document for Solicitation 140L6225Q0032, addressing specific questions about a paleontological survey for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Wyoming Region. The survey focuses on the Gas Hills High Potential Fossil Area (HPFA), covering 275 acres within the Lander Field Office, scheduled for completion between July and October 2025. The document clarifies two key points: (1) the survey is specifically intended for the Gas Hills HPFA area only, and (2) if significant fossils are discovered during the survey, they should be collected and included in the scope of work and associated costs.

The related federal contract opportunity requires a contractor with a current BLM Wyoming Paleontological Resources Use Permit to conduct a comprehensive survey, recording and evaluating all paleontological localities using BLM Locality Forms. Basic contracting requirements include active SAM.gov registration, 30-day prompt payment terms, and submission of quotes via email to Crystal Martinez (crystal@blm.gov) by the closing date. Quotes must include a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number, be submitted on SF-1449 form with a completed Bid Schedule, and provide sufficient technical detail to demonstrate acceptability.
