140L6221R0001 Amendment: 0002

Q1. It appears from the cross-section sheets that the parking lot is going to be paved. I couldn't find anywhere in the solicitation documents where the concrete is to be installed on this project.

The 630 CY amount is still a huge amount. I assume you are installing curb and gutter around the parking lot. Measuring from Google earth, that is in the neighborhood of 600 linear feet.

See attached picture. The curb and gutter equates to 0.0556 CY/linear foot. So, if you do 600 feet long that would only be about 33 CY.

Where is the concrete going on this project? Are you putting sidewalk too or something? ( 600 LF of sidewalk would be another 37 CY of concrete)

A1. There is not going to be any curb and gutter on this parking lot. The asphalt is being removed and building up the subbase, base and placing concrete six inches thick as per section 1009 Part 1 General last sentence. I also have in the contract section 3310 Structural Concrete with reinforcements. The area I get in google earth is 34,053 square feet as shown in the image from google earth. Take this times the .5 feet in depth of the concrete gives 630.6 cy.

We are not replacing any asphalt. The asphalt is being pulled and replaced with concrete. Please see Typ Pavement Cross Section Concrete Cross Section Drawing.
