Cottonwood Creek Study Rebuild Solicitation: 140L5724Q0058 Questions & Answers

Question Answer Posted Amendment #
1 8/1/2024 Email In the drawings, it shows the chicken wire height at 24 inches, in the written specs it states 36-inch height. Which height does the agency want?
Preference is for 36in height of the chicken wire 8/5/2024 001
2 8/1/2024 Email
In the specs it talks about "lodge posts" Do they mean cedar or treated posts?
Surely they're not referring to using lodgepole posts in the ground? Would it be acceptable if we used a solid roll of 6ft 3 in or a similar height wire vs matching the two differing height rolls?
We would like treated posts in the ground, lodge posts for the horizontal rails One size net wire will be sufficient as long as the total height is at least 8ft. There is an 8ft high tensile net wire that could be used at which point we would not require the smooth wire on top. 8/5/2024 001
3 8/1/2024 Email
Does the agency want standard woven wire fixed knot wire mesh? or do they want more like a fixed knot non-climb with 2x4 in spacing?
Standard mesh woven fixed knot mesh 8/5/2024 001
4 8/1/2024 Email
Are green treated posts and rails acceptable for the corners, braces and top rails?
The drawing says 6 inch cedar posts as corner set posts, but materials list says lodgepole. What are they referring to as lodge posts? I’ve been building fence for a combined 60 years and haven’t heard them referred to as that so I’m a little confused as to what a lodge post actually is. I just want to make sure I price the correct item in my bid.
For the Cottonwood Creek Exlosure Fence SOW the 8’ and 12’ treated posts were intended to be cedar posts. In the Materials Description the 12ft lodge posts are also intended to be 12’ cedar posts. Anywhere it says lodge posts are intended to be cedar posts. Bark does not need to be stripped. Lodge poles are for the rails and not the posts. 8/5/2024 001
5 8/1/2024 Email And the top rail diameter says 4.5 inches. is that also correct?
4.5 inches is an average and the top rail diameter can vary depending on the lodge pole between 3-6 inches. No diameters less than 3 inches will be accepted. Bark does not need to be stripped. 8/5/2024 001
