1. I wanted to know if you all will be providing the Tilt Chute to Trim?

The tilt chute is BLM furnished

2. How many days a week do you trim on average?

Trimming could be 2 to 3 days out of the week or just 1 day. Depends on what needs to be trimmed or how many horses are at the facility.

3. How many days per week is a farrier expected to be on site?

UP to 2 to 3 days a week. Schedule depends on what is going out for events or maintenance trimming.

4. The quote references an estimate of 1,400 animals - is that a cap for the year, or does the contract allow for work above the 1,400 animals if need arises?

This is just a yearly estimate for the facility if it is filled at capacity. Facility moves horses in and out of facility and may not be at capacity year-round.

5. Is the farrier permitted to bring an apprentice on site?

Yes, contractor can bring help or apprentice.

6. Who is the incumbent?

Flying UJ, P.C. is the incumbent with a contract number of 140L6219P0074

7. Is the expectation for a flat fee to be invoiced each month, or is the invoice to be per animal trimmed each month?

It is your fee per animal trimmed. You can invoice per day or per week depending on how many animals are being trimmed

8. Can you tell me what the monetary value of the previous contract was awarded for or even a vague range? Or possibly tell me what is allotted, or a range of the monies earmarked for this contract?

Since the solicitation is out for bid, the request for monetary value of the previous contract or money earmarked for this will not be provided. Previous contract number is 140L6219P0074.

9. Instructions clearly state the ability needed to be able to arrive to the facility within 5 days’ notice. Barring any "animal welfare emergencies", would a regularly scheduled block of days every 2-4 weeks suffice for y’all’s needs?

Once the contract is in place, COR will schedule and discuss times with the contractor to trim animals for maintaining, as needed or emergency.
