Tonopah Carpet Installation Project Nevada Bureau of Land Management Southern Nevada District Request for Quote 140L3922Q0135_02

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Below are the answers for questions captured in regard to the solicitation 140L3922Q0135 for the Tonopah Carpet Installation project, to include via email and the site visit.

1. Question. Does the project scope include replacement of the carpet int the receptionist area?

a. Answer. No. However, the new carpet tiles must extend approximately 9 inches into (under the partition wall) the receptionist area (and transition into the existing carpet) so the exiting carpet in the receptionist area is not visible from the lobby.

2. Question. Does the project include the requirement to move all the furniture in the areas where the carpet will be replaced?

a. Answer. Yes. The contractor is responsible for moving and placing back the furniture. BLM will provide a room/place for the storage during the carpet replacement period.

3. Question. is there a hazard report that is available for the flooring?

a. No. However, BLM did not notice any asbestos black mastic when a small portion of the carpet was repaired a few years ago. The existing carpet is sheet/roll (not tile) type. It is the contractor’s responsibility to follow all the regulations if any hazardous materials are encountered. See below picture for example.
