NIFC 120-INT Roof Replacement Solicitation Number 140L3722R0002

CONTRACTOR QUESTIONS GOVERNMENT RESPONSE

1. What is the new metal roof assembly?

The specs have us removing existing panels on open framing (?) adding 5/8” plywood with high temp Ice and water than new panels to match the existing profile.

See Addendum 1 Specification Paragraph 3.8 and Paragraph 3.9

Roofing section as follows:

A. New metal roofing panel B. Dissimilar Metal Protection C. Existing structural z‐purlin.

1. What is the [existing] framing and does the framing layout allow for the plywood?

See Addendum 1 Specification Paragraph 1.1.B.7 and 1.1.B.8.

Metal roofing installed on structural purlins.

2. What is the existing panel profile? I’m assuming it’s a R-panel sim to the wall panels that are shown in the pic on the roof plan.

Existing panel appears to be R or PBR panel.

Profile does not appear to match current manufacturer cut‐sheets.

3. The specs call out for a 20-year NDL on your flat roof? But leaves open the metal roof. Is it included in the NDL warranty?

See Addendum 1 Specification Paragraph 1.7.C.

Warranty is for both roofing types.

4. With a low slope and R-panels we will not be able to get a warranty.

See Addendum 1 Specification Paragraph 1.1.B.5 and 2.5.B.

Existing metal roof is sloped at 1:12.

Contractor constructed bitumen decking at slope of 1/4”: 1”, or minimum to achieve warranty.

5. If it’s open framing the same applies [will not be able to get warranty].

State any warrantee exclusions in bid response.
