Questions and Answers
Q1: Do we have a guess on known infestation acreage?
A1: The government does not have a definitive estimate on known infestation acreage. Historically, weed patches in the area have been small and scattered. Patches typically range less than a ¼ acre per patch but could be almost anywhere on BLM lands. There are more and more patches of weeds showing up concentrated around waterways and access roads. There are a few places where some larger patches of weeds (sulphur cinquefoil, leafy spurge, and knapweeds) have shown up and spread out from/connected up (Barrel Springs, Crooked Creek Rd, Alex Camp, Horse Camp, and Tin Can Hill Rd). This is the reason for the breakout of the different areas and the inventory/treatment.
Q2: Any Historical treated maps for reference?
A2: See attachment 8- Historical Treatment Areas as incorporated by this amendment.
Q3: Will pulling water on site be allowed?
A3: There are places where water can be obtained in the area but are mostly used in emergencies. It is recommended to either haul water or conduct compatibility tests prior to mixing.
