The contractor will be responsible for securing, loading, transporting and offloading the government furnished property from the jobsite to the BLM Vernon Field Station in Vernon, UT.
No temporary facility is necessary for the storage of fencing materials. Coordination of weekly delivery and acceptance of said materials at Vernon is the requirement.
Smooth wire or banding may be used to secure the
T posts to the pallet. (see attached photos.) If using smooth wire, use three strands. If using banding material, two bands are sufficient.
Amendment 0002 corrects/clarifies the following:
1. The wire and fence stays are to be disposed of by the contractor. Only the braces and fence posts are to be salvaged and returned to the
Government. Only the straight posts with no rust below the spade will be salvaged. The
Contracting Officer's Representative will make this determination. This fence has only been in the ground for five years. The contractor will provide the pallets for the salvage. T-Posts to be bundles of 100 on a pallet. Three tight tide strands of smooth wire or 2 3/4 inch metal banding per pallet will be acceptable.
2. Material to be stored in a safe location
(i.e., a trailer with sides would be considered stored). All material that is to be saved will be shipped to Vernon upon completion of the project.
3. There is a significant amount of sage brush piled up on both sides of the fencing. It is a responsibility of the contractor to pull the tumbleweeds and vegetation debris away from the fence. The tumbleweeds cannot be burned. The the tumbleweeds cannot be pushed onto the road.
Once the tumbleweeds are removed from the fence they can remain in place.
4. Due to the amount of tumbleweeds against the fence the period of performance will be adjusted
