QUESTION AND ANSWER DOCUMENT
Q: Regards to the cedars well, I noticed hole diameter requirements were 8.75” but top steel casing is still 8” ID, is that correct?
A: The Cedars Well surface casing requirements has been updated to 10 inch diameter steel casing (0.25 in wall thickness) with a minimum 13 inch borehole.
Q: I’m regards to the casing requirements, (sch40 belled end solvent welded) would we be able to use sdr 21 or sdr17 spline jointed pipe?(ie certa lock)
A: According to ASTM F480, the minimum wall thickness for both SDR17 and SDR21 exceed the specified SCH40 classification for 5 inch casing. However, for the 4-1/2 in casing, only SDR17 exceeds the minimum wall thickness. Therefore, SDR-17 will be allowed for both the 4-1/2 inch casing and 5 inch casing. SDR21 will only be accepted for the 5 inch casing. Spline jointed pipe is acceptable, as long as it meets all other specifications.
Q: Can I look at the site?
A: Yes. Contractor’s can familiarize/look at the site. Be sure you are using public access to the areas. See solicitation regarding No Site Tour info/expectations under the “General” section.
