SCHNELL TRAIL REPAIR-140L3421Q0017
QUESTION AND ANSWER DOCUMENT
Q.1. The drawings (Sheet 4 of 5 of the attached document) are calling for "Tread Material" to be the top portion of the trail construction. However, nothing in the specs describes what "Tread Material" is. Could you elaborate on what fill is considered "Tread Material"?
A.1 . Drawing Sheet 4 of 5 is labeled "Standard Trail Terms." This drawing is simply an illustration of terms used in trail construction to help better define those terms, and the contract specifications specifically state in Part 3.01.A.2. of MT-02796 that "All Trail Excavation shall be full bench excavation." Full bench excavation is described in Part 1.02.G. of MT-02796 as "Where the entire trailbed is constructed on undisturbed material." Therefore, there will be no tread material fill required, and the trailbed will consist of the natural material.
