About this file

This is a solicitation document for the Burnt Creek Exclosure Fence Rebuild project for the Bureau of Land Management's Idaho Falls District in Custer County, Idaho. The project involves constructing approximately 2,220 feet of new four-pole wood buck and pole fence and removing 2,903 feet of existing four-wire fence. The work will take place in the Upper Pahsimeroi Valley, approximately 65 road miles from Challis, Idaho, with project site coordinates at 44.150100° N, 113.634200° W.

The specification details precise requirements for fence construction, including using lodgepole pine poles (21 feet and/or 16 feet in length), specific pole spacing (10, 18, 26 inches from ground), and jack spacing (10 feet apart for 21' poles, 7.5 feet apart for 16' poles). The project includes three wildlife crossings with modified pole heights and requires minimal ground disturbance. Motorized travel is restricted to BLM designated routes, and some materials must be transported manually up to 0.25 miles across uneven terrain. The project is scheduled for August 2025, with specific guidelines for pole selection, fastening, bracing, and overall fence construction methodology.
