About this file

This document summarizes a pre-bid site inspection tour and question and answer session for a federal contract opportunity to replace the water system at Kelly Island Campground. The Bureau of Land Management is soliciting bids to remove existing water piping west of the main roadway, replace the water line from the well to the pump house, and install new water distribution piping to provide water to RV and tent campsites. Bidders must complete work within 180 days of receiving notice to proceed. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating water shutdowns, conducting chlorine flushes and bacteria testing on sections as work is finished, installing utility marking tape to indicate piping locations, and identifying all subsurface utilities. The pre-bid meeting provided an opportunity for contractors to inspect the site and have their questions answered in order to develop responsive bids for this project to upgrade Kelly Island's water infrastructure by the specified deadline.
