About this file

This document appears to be a set of questions and answers related to a federal solicitation for trash collection and disposal services for the Long-Term Visitor Areas (LTVA) at the Hot Springs and Pilot Knob LTVAs in Imperial County, CA.

The key details are: The solicitation requests four 6-yard dumpsters at the Hot Springs LTVA and three 6-yard dumpsters at the Pilot Knob LTVA, with service every other Wednesday. The contractor is not required to provide weight tickets but can provide an average weight based on the volume collected. Hazardous materials cleanup must be coordinated with the Bureau of Land Management point of contact. The PWS has been amended to remove the weight ticket requirement. The contract does not have a specific color requirement for the dumpsters, and the dumpsters cannot be left on-site after the 8-month service period due to concerns about damage and unauthorized access.

Text version

• Is there a specific color the dumpsters need to be?

o Color does not matter.

• After the 8 months of service, is it possible to keep the dumpster on site if we secure them with a “Bar Lock”?

o We can’t leave them out due to visitors will break them open or cause damage.

• Section 2.0 is requesting for every other week service on 6yd containers. We want to confirm the service requested on this solicitation is correct.

o Confirmed that this is every other Wednesday is necessary.

• There is also a section asking to dispose of items left around dumpsters within a 10-foot radius. We can clean up around containers, but we don’t collect hazardous waste(oil).

o For hazardous materials contractor is required to notify the BLM POC in order to have the appropriate cleanup methods applied.

• Section 3.0 Task 6, is requesting for copies of weight tickets. We are unable to provide weight tickets, trash is collected with all other trash we collect. We can provide an average weight based on yards collected. The price of service will be higher if we set up the account to provide weight tickets as we would have to set up a specific driver to service the containers at those two locations only.

o See amended PWS attached it has been removed.

• We would like to confirm the total number of dumpsters on the location.

o See section 2.0 of the PWS. “There shall be four 6-yard dumpsters placed at the entrance of the Hot Springs LTVA, and three 6-yard dumpsters placed at the entrance of the Pilot Knob LTVA.”

• Can we provide trash pickup service on any other day besides Wednesday?

o Wednesday is the required day due to staff availability.
