NHTIC Lighting and Fire Suppression

Questions and Answers #1

1) Q: We formally request that Sub-Contractors have access to the facility prior to Proposal

Due Date, July 29, 2024.

A: The facility is open to the public. Contractors may visit the facility and have access to the public areas during normal hours of operation. Disruptions to the facility, facility staff, and the public in public areas shall be minimized. Areas not specific for public access will not be accessible. BLM will not hold another site tour.

2) Q: Please advise which lighting fixtures in the Gallery are owned by the US Government and which lighting fixtures are owned by the Curator aka The Foundation.

A: Fixtures are shown on the plans, they were installed original to the building and are owned by the BLM. If they are not shown on the plans, for this project they are considered to be owned by the Foundation.

3) Q: Are the 9 spotlights over the pony express horse and rider to be included in the project bid? They appear to be part of the presentation lighting for the amphitheater which I believe to be part of the foundations lighting.

A: These do not show on the plans and are considered to be owned by the

Foundation and are not a part of this bid package.

4) Q: Are all the spotlights in the presentation theatre part of The Foundation’s lighting as well, or is it part of the bid package?

A: These do not show on the plans and are considered to be owned by the

Foundation and are not a part of this bid package.

5) Q: Are we required to bid exact wattage of present lighting when replaced with new lighting?

A: Lamps must be high efficiency LED. Wattage must be lower than existing.

Intensity (lumen output) must match existing.

6) Q: Please clarify the kelvin/temperature of all light fixtures included in the bid package.

A: Existing lamp temperatures not known. Use 4000K for the office area and mechanical rooms and 3000K everywhere else.

7) Q: Exterior bid adder- If it’s more cost effective to replace a light fixture in this package than to provide a new LED replacement bulb, can a fixture be replaced instead?

A: No, bid the project with the current specifications.

8) Q: We would like to request any fire alarm drawings that may be available, as well as the latest fire alarm inspection report please.

A: See Attachment 2 – Drawings page 16 for Fire Alarm Riser Diagram. No other drawings are available. See Attachment 10 – Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Inspection

Report.
