About this file

This is Amendment 0002 to a federal solicitation (140GG027Q0006) issued by USGS Programs - Sacramento for onsite veterinary services. The amendment effective date is October 15, 2026, with a performance period of October 26, 2026 to October 25, 2027. The amendment serves as a Questions and Answers document providing clarification to prospective offerors on contract requirements.

Key operational details include: the contractor will be notified on the day of surgeries once birds are caught by USGS; the estimated 20 annual workdays will be scheduled intermittently throughout the performance period rather than consecutively; full billable onsite workdays typically consist of 8 to 10 hours, and contractors will be compensated for the full day if they arrive at the site to perform surgeries as scheduled by USGS; and if veterinary personnel are on call but not required to report to the surgery site, they will not be compensated. Work is confirmed only on the day of surgery once USGS has birds that are candidates for the procedure. The amendment specifies that no additional questions will be accepted after its issuance and must be acknowledged by offerors prior to the deadline specified in the original solicitation or by completing required forms and returning them to the issuing office.
