Q: For the Quote 1, the barged from Seattle / Tacoma port to Alaska port, is it the Vendor’s expense when the truck is barged from Seattle port to anchorage port?
A: All the items barged are vendors' expenses.
Q: Since the carrier would need to go through Canada, would you be providing custom documentations for round trip so they can be clear to pass through? What's the total miles of the trip?
A: The vendor decides what route and transportation methods. Most would be barging equipment from Seattle to Anchorage.
Q: The drill rig says 38 feet long normally there is over hang, can you provide model number or length of truck itself to determine true length needed for lowbed, bumper to rear of truck at ground level not the length of mast overhang?
A: The rig is a Atlas Copco T2W. Actual length is closer to 35’. Front mast sticks out roughly
4-5 “ beyond the front bumper. The rear mast sticks out roughly 8” beyond the rear .
Q. Does the carrier needs to have UIIA to drop the containers at the Seattle Tacoma Port? Would the customer provide the code and paperwork needed for the drop off?
A: The vendor handles all permits etc. We will supply certification numbers for the containers. We do not have any certs for the drillrig, trucks and trailer.
Q. Same question at Anchorage AK, is a twic card enough for the carrier to pick up all the goods including the containers? Or do they need to have UIIA to be able to generate their own pin to pick up the containers at the port?
A: We are not familiar with UIIA or twic cards. We expect logistic services to handle.
Q. Starting May 1st if I sent 8 trucks to pick up everything from Las Vegas NV to Seattle
Tacoma port, when are we expecting the ship to arrive at Anchorage AK?
A: As written we require the containers to be delivered to Happy Valley on June 11 or 12. The vendor shall advise the USGS when the containers need to be ready for pickup in Las Vegas.
Q: Can you please confirm if the containers are or are NOT seaworthy?
A: The containers will be certified for loading and unloading.
Q: Will the vendor be responsible for land transport of any vehicles or drill rig and corresponding equipment for either quote?
A: We will drive the vehicles to the port and from the port.
Q: For insurance purposes, what is the dollar amount for all items being transported?
A: Total value of all containers, truck mounted drill rig, vehicles and trailers is roughly $2 million.
Q: Does the customer want the vehicles identified in the solicitation driven up to Seattle and then driven from anchorage to the drop site, or is it necessary that they be loaded onto flatbed/stepdeck trailers and hauled? In essence, are we able to provide drivers for these vehicles.
A: We can drive vehicles to port for barging then to happy valley. Same in reverse.
Q: What is the total amount of cargo or vehicular insurance required for the vehicles and containers? We have standard cargo insurance coverage, but can up our level to meet whatever is necessary.
A: Approx value of all equipment is $2 million
