About this file
This is an amendment to a federal contract solicitation that corrects a reporting level discrepancy for a chemical specification. Amendment 2 addresses an error in Attachment A-Final Questions and Answers, which contained an incorrect report level for the 7.5-7.7N Ultrex Nitric Acid constituent specification. The incorrect report level listed in the prior attachment was 1.0 µg/L, whereas the correct report level established in Amendment 1 is 0.03 µg/L. Both values relate to metal contamination testing using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (USGS OF 92-634 method) for filtered water samples.
The corrected specification applies to 2.0 mL of 7.5-7.7N Ultrex grade nitric acid solution (JT Baker) in a 4.5 mL polypropylene copolymer screw cap vial under Section D 1). The requirement specifies that contamination levels of metal constituents shall be less than 0.03 µg/L when the vial contents are prepared to the equivalent of 1 vial volume added to 250 mL of deionized water. All other terms and conditions of the solicitation remain unchanged.

Attachment 3A-The Purpose of this Amendment 2
A. The purpose of this amendment is to correct a discrepancy in Attachment A-Final Questions and Answers from the revised report level table in Amendment 1.
B. Attachment A-Final Questions and Answers included the incorrect report level in the table for the 7.5-7.7N Ultrex Nitric Acid:
Constituents Report
Level
Unit Method Description Method
Number
W 1.0 µg/L Metals, filtered water, Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry
USGS OF 92-
Attachment 3-The Purpose of this Amendment 1 included the correct report level in the table for the 7.5-7.7N Ultrex Nitric Acid:
Constituent Report
Unit Method Description Method Number
W 0.03 µg/L Metals, filtered water, Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry
USGS OF 92-634
Therefore, the report level in the table below is correct under Section D 1) 2.0 mL, 7.5-7.7N
Ultrex grade nitric acid solution (JT Baker), in a 4.5 mL polypropylene (PP) copolymer screw cap vial (polyvials).
d) Contamination levels of the following metal constituents shall be less than the report levels described below when prepared to the equivalent of 1 vial volume added to 250 mL of deionized water.
Constituent Report
Unit Method Description Method Number
W 0.03 µg/L Metals, filtered water, Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry
