About this file

This document is Attachment A2 of Additional and Final Questions and Answers for RFQ 140G0226Q0038, a solicitation for LabVIEW software development and training services for the USGS Denver Argon Geochronology Lab (DAGL) in Denver, Colorado.

Questions 22 and 23 address requirements for Section 508 accessibility compliance testing. The RFQ originally specified that a DHS Certified Trusted Tester must conduct on-site testing. In response to contractor concerns about availability of certified testers in the Denver area, USGS clarified that while all programming work must be completed on-site, the completed program may be provided to a Certified Trusted Tester to complete the Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) remotely. USGS further confirmed that the testing requirement cannot be waived; however, the remote testing option resolves the on-site location constraint.

RFQ 140G0226Q0038

LABVIEW SOFTWARE BRAND NAME OR EQUAL

DEVELOPMENT/TRAINING SERVICES for the

USGS, Denver Argon Geochronology Lab

(DAGL), Denver, CO.

22. Question #22:

“Line 4, page 18 of RFQ 140G0226Q0038 specifies that a DHS Certified Trusted Tester must be used to test the software for 508 compliance. My initial research shows that many such certified testers work remotely, since much of their work is on websites. This project must be completed on-site, since the computer is not on the network. I have so far been unable to identify any certified testers who work in the Denver area and would work on-site. Does USGS know of any such testers who could be recommended?”

USGS’s Response: All programming must be done on-site. However, the completed program may be provided to a Certified Trusted Tester to complete the

Accessibility Conformace Report (ACR) remotely.

23. Question #23:

“If the contract is awarded, but a certified tester cannot be found who will test the software on-site, can the testing requirement be waived?”

USGS’s Response: The testing requirement cannot be waived. However, as noted in the answer to Question #22, the testing may be completed remotely.
