14. DESCRIPTION OF AMENDMENT/MODIFICATION (Organized by UCF section headings, including solicitation/contract subject matter where feasible.)
A. The purpose of Amendment 0001 is to incorporate the following contractor questions and government responses from USGS Technical Liaison as part of the solicitation:
Question 1: Spec calls for Enclosed cabin with removable canvas bulkhead with single door and windows, is this the aft bulkhead of the cabin?
Government Response: Yes. This is a removeable aft bulkhead so that we can create more working deck space. I am receptive to the vendor's input if they see another way to achieve this.
Question 2: Spec states the aft bulkhead door has a 68-inch height and 26 inch framed

140G0223Q0176/0001 usable opening, is this the door in the =fabric bulkhead? There would be no actual frame in a canvas door. N What is the customer looking for here?
Government Response: We need to be able to pass through into the cabin when the aft bulkhead is installed. This could be a frame that mounts in the canvas or even an aluminum panel that can be removed. Again, I am receptive to the vendors ideas.
Question 3: 6-gallon porta potti shall be installed the forward berth, I don't see another reference to a fwd berth or any details, is a fwd berth required? Can this be located in another location in the cabin with a privacy curtain?
Government Response: This is for a cuddy cabin design. I've seen a few boats that have concealed porta potti in the berth. We'd consider a walkthrough design with an open bow. The porta potti could be located elsewhere in this case.
Question 4: In one of the options is calls for us to provide a price for both an autopilot and installation of the same that is compatible with
GPS and steering system and engine, please provide the manufacturer of the USGS supplied
GPS/Sounder MFD unit.
Government Response: I think "Autopilot" is the incorrect terminology. We want station keeping
(GPS anchor capability like the Skyhook system) but it's unclear what systems are compatible. We use the GARMIN GPSmap/Sounder combo on both of our current boats.
Question 5: Spec calls for storage in fwd berth...is a fwd berth required?
Government Response: A forward berth is preferred. However, we are open to a walkthrough design as long as there is some storge on the bow.
Question 6: The spec calls for 3 windshield wipers, 1 for each windshield and the center door...is a fwd door required, it conflicts with a fwd berth requirement.

Government Response: At least two windshield wipers are needed for the preferred cuddy cabin design.
Question 7: Specs state a "mono/deep-V hull", and states the builder must be an established catamaran boat manufacturer. Is this correct?
Government Response: The builder does not need to be an established catamaran manufactured.
Question 8: Wheelhouse - references a removable canvas bulkhead and an aft bulkhead door (framed)?
Government Response: This is correct. We would like the aft bulkhead to be heavy canvas with a means to pass through the bulkhead when installed.
Question 9: Windows - references "Diamond
SeaGlaze" throughout cabin. Only possible if the aft bulkhead is aluminum, not canvas?
Government Response: This is correct. We do not need "Diamond SeaGlaze" with the canvas bulkhead.
Question 10: Wheelhouse references a length of
78" and a forward berth area. Is there a height requirement in the berth area?
Government Response: No, just the wheelhouse.
Question 11: Please provide additional information on the "enclosed - lockable storage located in forward berth"?
Government Response: We need to be able to use the forward berth for secure storage of field necessities and personal gear for fieldwork. This could just be storage inside of the benches.
Question 12: Engines - are the controls mechanical or electronic?
Government Response: Preferably, electronic controls for the GPS anchoring system.
B. The response due date hereby remains unchanged for August 10, 2023 by 12:00 PM (EDT).
