About this file
This is Amendment 0003 to a solicitation issued by the USGS National Acquisition Branch for contract 140G0126Q0068, effective March 18, 2026. The amendment extends the bid due date to 1:00 PM EST on May 29, 2026, and provides answers to thirteen vendor questions submitted regarding the project scope and requirements.
The project involves the deconstruction and removal of a cableway structure from a riverine environment near the New River Trail in Virginia. Key clarifications provided include: the stream gage is identifiable as a large 20+ ft concrete tower with walkway access; progress payments will not be offered; overnight parking for heavy equipment is permitted in a designated area in the flood plain below the trail, to be shared with the awarded contractor; all concrete associated with the cableway structure must be removed, with marked debris identified with red "X" markers at project commencement; all 850 feet of cable must be removed from the site; the contractor may use the old roadbed/easement below the New River Trail to access the site with heavy equipment to avoid damaging the trail; and a US Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permit is required, though the USGS has completed a US Fish and Wildlife endangered species assessment determining no effect on endangered species. The contractor is responsible for determining work methods, adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations, and obtaining any required permits.
